"There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community."

If you are alive and you can breathe and move, thank God for being good another day. And that is not because you deserve it, but because HE is God and acts according to His purpose. This means that today is another day to start anew with God and with those who surround you. And because He loves you, He wants you to know what He hates. To sum it all up in He hates to see people hating each other, especially when it comes to His own people.

Looking at the verses above, it seems as if the author is describing a sequence of events. When people start hating, often this can be seen in their eyes. This leads to spreading lies about those being targeted, which in turn leads to their mistreatment, in the most fortunate cases. Cain even killed Abel out of hate. Once this line is crossed, love no longer leads the heart, but hate. The heart starts devising evil plans and leads the feet into evil, even rushing them. At this point, the eyes start looking at the feet in approval, and the tongue starts boasting about bigger things. Lying against one person is no longer enough; now, it is brings up false witness and stirs up conflict.

If you don't recognize this pattern, thank God for it. If, however, you know that you fell in this trap and it seems like there is no way out, let me tell you otherwise. Although it may seem difficult, instead of looking at someone with haughty eyes, start looking at them with eyes of love. Then, start by telling others the truth. As you continue to live in the truth, you will want to help others do the same, thinking not only of your own benefits, but those of others as well. Then your heart will start loving and will rush your feet into acts of love and kindness.

However, turning around can only be possible with the help of God. Since God is love and He loves you, start by asking His help.
