How Does Satan Take Advantage?
Coming From The Outside
Most of the thoughts about destroying your physical body are not originating from you. They are coming from the outside and speaking into your mind. People can have negative thoughts from time to time, but they will not seek to take up permanent residence. If you notice they are attempting to, but whether you are a believer in God or not, you need to address them and adjust your negative thinking processes through various means.
Thoughts About Yourself
We can all have dark thoughts at times, but I am referring to thoughts that have been festering in your mind for a long time. Negative thoughts about yourself and allowing those thoughts to take root and grow. The enemy will take advantage of your inner battle and begin to give you memories of situations that have happened in your past to prove that you are better off taking your own life. He is an opportunist, a liar, a thief, and a deceiver. He will subtly offer you a way out by planting thoughts in your mind with the promise that the torment will end, but his way out will ultimately destroy your life, the lives of your loved ones, the destiny God has for you, and any hope of rescue. Those who decide to take their own life do not realize that they cannot come back from death.
The bible says: 10 The thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy. (Jesus say;) I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. (John 10:10)
Words Spoken Over Your Life
If you have been brought up in a family where there are lots of physical or verbal abuse or where you have never been in a loving environment. If you have had words spoken over you, i.e., "your hopeless, your useless, you will never amount to anything". You begin to believe those words and take them into your heart. Words have power. The power to lift you up or to bring you down.
(James 3:7-10 NLT) tells us that:
7 People can tame all kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and fish; 8 but no one can tame the tongue. It is restless and evil, full of deadly poison. 9 Sometimes it praises our Lord and Father, and sometimes it curses those who have been made in the image of God. 10 And so blessing and cursing come pouring out of the same mouth. Surely, my brothers and sisters, this is not right!
What Is His Motive?
As a believer, I can only point to the truth based on my perspective found in God’s word. (John 10:10) says: The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.
Satan is a legalist, and as such, he knows God's word better than anyone other than Jesus.
When you have reached out for help, and I am referring specifically through Christian counseling and Deliverance as a believer. They will take you through a process of praying to God, confessing sins, and repenting of them with a genuine heart, and by his word in (1 John 1:9), he will forgive you and wash you clean by the (sacrificial) blood of his son Jesus, and you will become a new person in Christ.
The next area may need deliverance from strongholds and habits that may still be functioning in your life. When these processes are actioned, you will find that the burden is lifted like a heavy weight has been removed from your life and that depression that causes you to desire death over life begins to disappear.
God will also send you a helper, the Holy Spirit, to come and live in you and help you to become a new person; he will help you grow to be less like the world you came from and more like God, who loves you and has sent his only son to save you and bring you to a place of eternal life in his kingdom (the kingdom of heaven) to live with him forever.
Lies To Convince Believers
If you are already one of his and the Holy Spirit is dwelling within you, and you are struggling with this issue, it’s time to go back through the counseling and deliverance section with a reputable counseling and deliverance team from the church, because somewhere along the road, you have believed a lie from the enemy who hates you and wants the children of God to be in these kinds of bondages. Don’t let him. You have a calling on your life. Do not allow the enemy to destroy what God has called you to. You have been bought with a price, even the blood of Jesus. Your body that you want to destroy does not belong to you, brother or sister in Christ!
The Bible tells us that your body has now become a temple where the Holy Spirit lives. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20) says, 19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.
The bible also tells us (1 Corinthians 3:16-17) 16 Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? 17 If anyone destroys the temple of God, God will destroy that person, for the temple of God is holy, and that is what you are.
So please consider before making some bad choices and reach out either to the agencies that deal in these areas or the Christian agencies that have counseling and deliverance services available. Glory!
