Having examined the first five periods of Bible Chronology, we believe that we have established that from the creation to the end of the period of judges a total of 3009 years elapsed. Let us now examine the final two periods of chronology recorded in the bible beginning with Link # 24 in the true bible chronology.
“The Period of the Kings”
Saul's reign was in or during the space of forty years following the last Judge, until David was anointed king, and following him, the periods of the kings in the line of David are easily traced in Chronicles, thus:

“The Seventy Years of Desolation”
This brings us to the period of the desolation of the land, which lasted seventy years (from B.C. 606 to B.C. 536), and was ended by the restoration of its people from Babylon, in the first year of Cyrus, B.C. 536 (See 2 Chron 36:20-23), a date well established in secular history, and beyond which the line of Bible chronology does not extend.
“Unless our interest in Bible chronology is merely academic, it is imperative that we find a way to relate it with the historical events of modern times. Without such a clearly established linkage of the Biblical and secular chronologies, it would not be possible to trace the continuous course of time from the Creation to the ending of the 6,000 years, since the latter event falls into our modern era.
Fortunately, the Bible furnishes us with several cross links. One example is Jer 25:1, where it states that "the fourth year of Jehoiakim...was the first year of Nebuchadnezzar." Another is in Ezra 1:1-3 and 3:1, where it states that the Israelite's were restored from their captivity in Babylon in the first year of Cyrus, king of Persia. Such links are valuable because they clearly set forth a datable event in secular history that occurred simultaneously with one already marked out in the true Bible chronology.” ("True Bible Chronology", Page 45)
Here too again we have established an exact date for both the beginning and the ending of the third dispensation, the Jewish age beginning at the death of Jacob in 1813 B.C. and ending in 36 A.D. As for the Gospel age we know its beginning is 36 A.D. but its ending has not yet been determined because just like that of the Jewish harvest the Gospel harvest overlaps the next age, in this case the millennial age. No specific time limit is given because it is completely dependent upon the Father’s great mercy and patience in allowing the last members of the body of Christ to make their calling and election sure. He who inhabits eternity is not subject to time and therefore is in no hurry; nevertheless we can be assured all things are working according to the counsel of his will, his own plan. The millennial age is designated as a thousand years its precise beginning was in the autumn of the year 1872 A.D. exactly 6000 years from Adams creation (keep in mind Adam’s two years in the Garden), a thousand more years brings us to the end of the Seventh Creative day (2874 A.D.), the end of God’s great Sabbath or “rest” Day.
Thus we have shown through a clear Biblical chronology the following,
From the Creation of Adam To the end of the flood.................................. 1656 years
Thence to the covenant with Abraham...........................................................427 years
Thence to the Exodus and the giving of the Law............................................430 years
Thence to the division of Canaan.................................................................... 46 years
The period of the Judges...................................................................................450 years
The period of the Kings......................................................................................513 years
The period of the desolation................................................................................70 years
Bringing us from the creation to the end of the period of the desolation a total of 3592 years (the year of the world 536 B.C.).
The period from the time of the restoration of the Jews from Babylon, at the close of the seventy years desolation of their land, in the first year of Cyrus, down to the date known as A.D. 1, is not covered by Bible history. But, as before stated, it is well established by secular history as a period of 536 years. Ptolemy, a learned Greek-Egyptian, a geometer and astronomer, has well established these figures. They are generally accepted by scholars, and known as Ptolemy's Canon.
The period of the desolation to A.D.1...............................................................536 years
Total 4128 years
A.D. 1 to 1872 A.D...........................................................................................1872 years
Grand Total 6000 years
And so we have found a clear and connected line of chronology from creation to the beginning of the Christian era (A.D.)--in all, a period of 4128 years, which, together with 1872 years of the Christian era, mark 6000 years from “Creation” to the year 1873 A.D.
