I dreamed that I was with another mountain climber at the base of a mountain. There were a group of other climbers ( male and female) getting prepared to climb as well. The purpose of this excursion was to plant a flag at the top. We started to climb before the others to get to the next camp half way up and after a grueling climb we reached the second camp.

There was a hut at the half way point with a warm fire to greet us along with climbers from various parts of the world who were very friendly and chatted about their various climbing experiences. There were also amenlties available for hot showers and sleeping facilities so it was difficult to continue on up without focussing on our objective. After a day or two, I said to my climbing companion that we needed to keep climbing but he was happy to stay at this halfway point and urged me to stay as well but I had my heart set on finishing this ascent. He then asked if I could carry his flag up as well and plant it at the top for him but I declined and said he needed to do this thing for himself or not at all since we both prepared for it well ahead of time and knew what was required.

After awhile, I started for the top alone. It was again very difficult terrain and twice as hard without that second climber attached to my harness for climbing support in case of any emergencies or for encouraging each other. When I finally reached the top and planted my flag and was elated, did a little dance, took some pics, prayed and thanked Jesus for his mercies and for strengthening me when I became disheartened from the climb

Then began my desent. Half way down, I made contact with my climbing buddy who had spent his time deeply engrossed in the company of other climbers who were relating stories of their past conquests but I noted that only my flag was planted at the top and none of the other climbers ventured further than this halfway point So I left my climbing buddy there and made my way back down to the base camp alone but exilirated. Dream ended.
