We have now shown three different types of resurrections that will take place,

1) Those who take part in The First Resurrection, resurrected to the divine nature, Immortality, instantaneously, the first-fruits

2) The faithful of the pass, justified by faith, who have an instantaneous resurrection to life. They are the first fruits of the earthly phase of the Kingdom, to be followed by the remainder of the world brought to perfection, after-fruit.

3) Those that will experience a resurrection of judgment, which will be gradual, bringing them up to perfection during the thousand years of Christ’s reign.

There is however one more group or class who will experience an instantaneous resurrection which is included in the resurrection to life, that is the resurrection of the Great Company, (the virgins, who follow, Psa 45:14) an after-fruit which had not fully ripen at the appointed time, their resurrection will follow the first-fruits of the spiritual phase of the Kingdom, they too will be given a heavenly or spiritual resurrection, but not to the same plane to which the Church, the body of Christ shall attain, (the divine), but ratter one like unto the angels. They miss out on the opportunity to be of the bride class due to un-faithfulness in the fulfilling of their covenant of sacrifice and thus are not fully ready or developed at the appointed time.

The Song of Solomon 8:8 mentions these, “A sister (the after-fruit) have we (the first-fruits), a little one, And breasts hath she none…” (Rotherham Version) The little sister of the bride, who has no breast, is lacking proper development and maturity according to the precepts set forth by the Word of God, both in knowledge and in character development. The “little sister”, is fruit unto the Lord, but she is found to be un-ripe at the time the Lord gathers his bride.

Likewise Matt 25:6-12 mentions such “And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom; go ye out to meet him. Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out (that is they are un-ripe, not prepared, lacking both in the knowledge and in the graces [the character development] of our Lord Jesus Christ). But the wise answered, saying, not so; lest there be not enough for you and us: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready (the first-fruit) went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. Afterward came also the other virgins (the after-fruit, now fully ripen), saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not (that is, I know you not as my bride).”

Song of Solomon 5:2-6 “I sleep (the un-ripe fruit), but my heart wakes: it is the voice of my beloved that knocks, saying, Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my undefiled: for my head is filled with dew, and my locks with the drops of the night. But, I have put off my coat; how shall I put it on? I have washed my feet; how shall I defile them? My beloved put in his hand by the hole of the door, and my bowels were moved for him. I rose up to open to my beloved; and my hands dropped with myrrh, and my fingers with sweet smelling myrrh, upon the handles of the lock. I opened to my beloved; but my beloved had withdrawn himself, and was gone: my soul failed when he spoke: I sought him, but I could not find him; I called him, but he gave me no answer.

…the voice of my beloved that knocks, saying, Open to me…” compare this with Rev 3:20 “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” (This is the “them that sell” of Matt 25:9, also compare Rev 3:18I counsel thee to buy of ME gold tried in the fire, that thou may be rich; and white raiment, that thou may be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eye-salve, that thou may see.” In the end, the Lord, will supply the needed oil, spiritual food, the truth that shall bring the Great company to a ripen state.) But alas due to unfaithfulness they will have missed out on the grandest opportunity ever offered, the chance to be a joint heir with their Lord, to share in his glory, his honor, and his existence, immortality.

In our next study we will take a look at the various Judgements to see how they operate and to whom they apply.
