Lets start this in James 4:4 - Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. Christendom repeatedly say things like, “God loves us all so much that He will save us all”; or “He hates the sin, but loves the sinner”; or "God is love, and will not send anyone to hell.” Christendom teaches that God is so full of love, and that He simply cannot send anyone to eternal hell fire. It is against His infinite love. They want God to forgive all, even those who openly reject Him and die cursing God. I must admit, it is nice to think of God's love being so infinitely great that all will ultimately be saved. The Lake of Fire (Hell) is a terrible place and I don't want anyone to go there, but it does not matter what I think. All that matters is what the Bible says. God is love: (1John:4:8), but God also punishes the sinner and hates all who do iniquity. God is not one sided. He is not simply an infinitely loving God. He is also infinitely just. He must deal with sin. He must punish the sinner. He cannot lie: (Titus1:2) “which God, that cannot lie,” In the truth of God's word, we find that the Lord has provided one way by which we may be saved. That single way is through Jesus' sacrifice.

For all who trust in Him, and do His commandments, salvation will come. But to those who turn away, God's wrath abides upon them: (John 3:36) He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Jesus said in Matthew 10:34 - Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. We really need to understand who we dealing with brother and sisters, because Jesus second coming is war. People don't talk to much about the Jesus as the lion. In the scriptures its written, The earth mourneth and fadeth away, the world languisheth and fadeth away, the haughty people of the earth do languish. The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant. Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left. (Isaiah 24:4-6)

Do we understand what being said here? Lets go more into the future with this... The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again. And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall punish the host of the high ones that are on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth. (Isaiah 2420,21)

(Psalm 5:5) The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.

(Psalm11:5) The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.

I think it's unfortunate that people think that means to not be friends with sinners... when Jesus was friends with sinners and died for them...

The world James is speaking of not being friends with has it's flags in almost every church building on this planet and most religious businesses are incorporated with it... the principle of the mystery of babylon that now sits on many waters... that instead of living in relationship with God's creation try's to build a tower up to God... (Technology, Industry, etc)

I get frustrated every day that I basically have to work for this world in order to enjoy what my Father in heaven gave me for free... because the violent takes what belongs to His children by force...

I can't wait for this world to be removed from my Father's earth...

I actually was going to do a website for some christian ministry one time and half way through it I had to bar them because they were preaching that nature was poverty and industry was riches...

They saw God's creation as being poor... and mans pollution as being rich...

His Kingdom come... I just want to be cruising in my Father's garden with our Family eating freely from His creation... like He intended in the first place...

The world preaches that's being lazy... but that's because the world rejects God... look at the birds... people say that being dumb is having a bird brain but somehow birds live on this earth without polluting it... eat freely from our Father's creation on permanent vacation... and somehow make it down to the beach every evening to awe at our Father's sunset... hopefully more people get bird brains... haha

Hope this blesses...

Brothers and sisters, we have to separate from the ways of the world. We have to put God's word on the table, mans words on the table and make a decision. Jesus said in Luke 6:22 - Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake. 6:23 Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.

Now lets continue in Luke and deal with some things Jesus said to do, but may not be easy, these are things we have to work on. 6:27 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, 6:28 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. 6:29 And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also. 6:30 Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again. 6:31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise. 6:32 For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them. 6:33 And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.

Now you can read the rest on your on, but I just want to show you brothers and sisters, some of the things we have to do, besides just keeping the law (commandments). Because a friend of the world is not going to deal with these things, brother and sisters.

Paul said in 2 Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? 6:15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? 6:16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people 6:17 - Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you

Notice, Paul mention the unclean things. Lets search and find in the Bible some unclean things to the Lord. Lets go in the scriptures and Start in Leviticus 10:10 - And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean; Leviticus 7:21 - Moreover the soul that shall touch any unclean thing, as the uncleanness of man, or any unclean beast, or any abominable unclean thing, and eat of the flesh of the sacrifice of peace offerings, which pertain unto the LORD, even that soul shall be cut off from his people. Now read the rest of Leviticus and in Numbers 19 chapter, and take heed to all thats unclean to the lord, brothers and sisters.

Remember what Paul said in Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

This really isn't hard to understand. I am not sure we spend so much time trying to understand what John really meant by 'the world' when we could be practicing our sanctification in real life and even here on this board.

I guess it is easier to control scripture than it is to love people we cannot control. It is all about throwing off the Ego and learning to live from our True Selves, which means being vulnerable. God help us!

Brothers and sisters, one will find in the scriptures that the fundamental duty of man is to love God as well as to love his neighbor. Man has not understood the significance or the implications of not adhering to this duty. The word love in itself is beyond definition and it implies different things to different people. And because of this ambiguity man has decided to apply his definition of love to God's commandment to love rather than finding out the meaning of love according to God's standards. Man as a whole has never fully understood the word love as God defines it in His commandments and one can confirm that by simply looking at the condition of the world. People relate love to emotions and they base it on terms of feeling. The problem with this is when feeling change so does ones love. The love that God requires of man is one of will. And this love is a deliberate attitude whereas circumstances and changes in situations do not impact ones actions. In examining the scriptures one will find that God is clear in describing how man is to love Him. And while the bible shows a broad spectrum of love the love that God requires from man is well defined and is based on obedience. Now, lets take a look at something Jesus said in Matthew 19:16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? Very, very good question. The people who are consider a friend of the world, already know the answer to this question. They would say, Jesus did it all, you don't have to do anything. Pay close attention to Jesus first reply...verse cb(19,17);19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

First thing Jesus said was, "Why callest thou me good," because Jesus knows, that this flesh is a load, an the commandments is the only thing that will keep this flesh in subjection. Take a look and see how Jesus goes straight into the ten commandments...verse 19:18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, cb(19,19);19:19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Now at that time, of course the sabbath day is the seventh day of the week, it was the only day that had a name in those days. Today, the sabbath day is still the seventh day of the week according to the Bible, but we now have another day added, which is sunday, the first day of the week, thats not in the Bible as a sabbath to keep, which mostly the world go to church on. Now in Leviticus it says 23:3 "Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the Sabbath of rest, an holy convocation;" He said on the Sabbath day that you should also have an holy convocation, which means holy gathering or simply put, go to church.

Now, a friend of the world is not going to do these things, brothers and sisters

Lets pick this up in (Lev.20:23) “Moreover, you shall not follow the customs of the nation which I shall drive out before you, for they did all these things, and therefore I have abhorred them.”

Lets go to Jeremiah and take a look at another custom 10:1 Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel: 10:2 Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. 10:3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. 10:4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. 10:5 They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good. 10:8 But they are altogether brutish and foolish: the stock is a doctrine of vanities. 10:10 But the LORD is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation.

We know what this custom in, Jeremiah is talking about.

Leviticus 20:25 - Ye shall therefore put difference between clean beasts and unclean, and between unclean fowls and clean: and ye shall not make your souls abominable by beast, or by fowl, or by any manner of living thing that creepeth on the ground, which I have separated from you as unclean.

Leviticus 18:30 - Therefore shall ye keep mine ordinance, that ye commit not any one of these abominable customs,[/b] which were committed before you, and that ye defile not yourselves therein: I am the LORD your God.

Revelation 21:8 - But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Time is getting close to the Lord's coming, sisters and brothers, we have to get it together.

Now...Just to throw out there, the first miracle Jesus did, which was turning water into wine. Brother and Sisters, I have ran into people, who would say that drunking is a sin. Now, the people that say these things are people who don't whorship the lord on the sabbath day of the week, the seventh day (saturday). These people have strange doctrine, thats not of the Bible, but they use the Bible. This is how we know that these people are of the world, when they can't adhere to sound doctrine. Before we get into the point, lets quote Paul in 1 Timothy 6:3 - If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; Titus 2:1 - But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:

Lets take a look and see the miracle in John 2:1 And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there: 2:2 And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage. 2:3 And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine. 2:4 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come. 2:5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. 2:6 And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece. 2:7 Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. 2:8And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it. 2:9 When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,

So, we just read that Jesus turn water into wine; but these people who would say unto you that drunking is a sin. So we have confusion, because Jesus said in Luke 5:32 - I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance So , how can a person repent, if that saying drunking is sin. You understand what I'm saying brother and sisters, this is serious business, twisting up the word of God. Now, lets read about what people said in Jesus time and they would probably say now.

Lets read what Jesus said in Matthew 11:19 - The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.

Now lets back up the 18 verse in Matthew... For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil Also in Luke 7:33 - For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a devil.

So this is why Jesus said in Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. 10:36 And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household. 10:37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. 10:38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. 10:39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

Because somebody is going to raise up from his or her family and start reading some Bible, I mean straight Bible, that is going to dispel bad doctrine and foolishness. In most cases, worldly people are going to do and believe what they want, no matter what the Bible say. Some will say that the Bible is not saying what the Bible is saying, no matter how concrete the words are coming out of Jesus mouth or the prophets or apostles. But, Jesus drunk wine, John the Baptist drunk no wine, and peoplecome with a problem, even till this day. Sticking the word of God is when you start becoming sancified, being set apart from the world.

peace in Jesus name

You make a good point.

On the other hand I think that the problem of worldliness isn't one that is shared by those who participate here.

It's the institutional church that has failed.

It is assumed by many of its leaders that social help is to be preferred over the embarrassing foolish preaching of the gospel (not my attitude I assure you). While it is not wrong to help one's brother and to operate social programs in the community, in my opinion it's wrong to think that this service is a substitute for evangelism.

For example, the seminary I attended over thirty years ago now offers business courses. Theological studies are offered as an after thought and are no longer the exclusive discipline. This is what happens when the institutional church goes secular. Pretty soon it isn't worth its salt Biblically. What happens then?
