What a JOKE!
All kinds of commercials showing men and women engaged in sexually suggestive acts that show some company's pride/endorsement of the LBGTQRSTLMNOP community.
And on top of this all kinds of various churches these days seem to be more endorsing of homosexual relationships and gender fluidity.
And I am appalled and shocked and dismayed at all of this...somewhat.
Over the millennia one thing true is that the church has tried unsuccessfully to remain culturally relevant. Of course this has always met with stiff opposition. We go to war over how the scriptures are translated into various languages. Some Churches have embraced the culture so much that they are allowing the culture to define them...to their detriment.
Look,
History in scriptures and over time has revealed what Paul said in Romans 1&2 so very true. Every "modern" culture likes to conveniently forget God and do the job of defining us themselves. This "forgetting" is what is responsible for things like the Crusades and adoption of homosexuality as a viable choice. But the truth is that this is allowing culture to define who you are instead of God and biology. BUT...I come from the age of Mr. Roger's Neighborhood.
What I mean is this...
Today, Culture is trying to tell men that enjoy needlepoint, sewing, flowers, dolls, or cooking that they must be homosexual and have sexual relations with other men. But guys like Gordon Ramsey, Rosie Greer, Jim Henson and etc have taught me that it's perfectly fine to like and do anything like that without it defining you on a sexual level. Conversely there has been strong leaders which are women that have exceeded what any man could in that role at that time...including in the world of warriors or sports. (Hell hath no fury as a woman scorned)
So...I have no idea why the churches or people today are trying to allow culture to define them. They claim to be "free" but then enslave themselves into vices and sexual perversions...Culture tells these people that defy the cultural norms that unless they are sexually perverse as well that no one will love them and they will never be happy. BUT the truth is that God already loves them and wants them to be free from such sins. It isn't good for them. No matter what the culture tells them.
Why is the church forgetting their identity?
Why are they allowing culture define their role in a society?
Why is the church more worked up over politics in a governmental system that doesn't meet their ideal government? (Monarchy with God in charge) Trying to tell everyone which piece of dung is less offensive than another?
So...I let God define who I am...sure I can sew, cook, childcare, and love with full emotions....but I am also in love with my wife and woodwork, and construction and leathercrafts and cooking and....
I wish the church could get this message out and believe in it.
