Simple answer: the cause of the Problem is the pride of man. When man comes to the conclusion that they only know in part, then that pride will be discarded and discourse can take place, and the unity of the Spirit achieved.

Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name. (Malachi 3:16)

Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; (Ephesians 4:13-14)
Unity of faith does not occur just because you feel like quoting Scripture about the historic Hebrews.

Is that happening, or not? Remember, citing and "claiming" Scripture does not demonstrate it. Having a narrative in your mind from Scripture is not obeying it.

No, I identified the problem... the pride of man. The scripture is there as a guide to how Unity of the Spirit works. Unity comes with Spiritual maturity, part of that maturity is being man enough to listen to others and hear their views and not beat them down because they disagree with you.

There are simple solutions to the biggest divides in the church which I and others have presented on the forum, most are just not ready to receive them.

Ephesians 4:11-14 KJV
11) And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12) For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13) Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
14) That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

Not everyone is meant for every role, and yes, the pride of man leads him to grasp at that which is not his, to the disadvantage of all concerned.

Much love!

While that may be true, you are mischaracterizing @David H. 's reply to you. You've asked a question, he's given an answer from Scripture. Perhaps you agree, and perhaps you don't, but your response is entirely empty. Vanity.

How will you achieve unity with those whom you interact with?

Much love!

Because a persons faith is subjective to what they have learned and know about Scripture ; be it someone taught them from their own perception - or someone went and searched out the scriptures and sought for answers that God provides.

So this is why personally believe that Christianity is subjective to the individual and their own knowledge and each and every person on earth is responsible for their own life ~ be them unbeliever or a believer.

How does someone learn humility? I'll admit, I really had to become completely hopeless in my own eyes to really let go of pride, which is a word we use to describe the feeling of "self effort".

Pride, disunity, division and strife all come from the flesh, are the works of the flesh. Unity and love and gentleness and patience are from the Spirit, and in the Spirit we are one. If we walk in the Spirit, we will exhibit the Spirit's fruit in us which will lead us to know unity with others.

I think we can truly establish the unity the Bible speaks of even if we don't agree in all doctrine. That we are trusting Jesus to save us from our sins, that we have the hope of the resurrection, because Jesus raised from the dead, you know, the basic tenets of our faith. This is our unity. Whenever we may feel disunity, we establish it again being in Christ.

Love, that is, the dedication towards someone's wellbeing, gentleness, patience, all of these, when we have that humility to not just act of ourselves, posts that promote strife, when we write to each other in love, then we start from the position of unity, and seek to unify on other points.

When we start from the position of disunity, where we disagree, then the focus is on that division.

I think it's that "pride of man" that seeks after the division, what separates, without the solid foundation of what unifies.

Much love!

"A double minded man is unstable in all his ways." James 1"8

Who is not double minded?

For me Personally, Humility comes when we see and come into the presence of an almighty God who is omniscient. When we focus on this our hardness goes away and we become like a sponge to his teaching, and His Word.

Is there a doctrinal unity to be had? I believe there is and comes when we arrive at Truth from our various backgrounds, we will see that we have some truth but not all truth and then in fellowship we will arrive at the whole truth. But this cannot happen until the pride of man is dealt with.

Pewsitting church talkers only know how to be double minded. They equate words with actions, and their ideas with reality. They go from narrative to narrative.

Is that your activity?

You have not been in the presence of God. Fellowship does not provide truth. Chatting about and presupposing an idea like the one you expressed does not place it in reality.

Are you a verbally oriented person, perhaps?

How much do you know about the bible scripture itself Jared42? Have you sat down and read the Gospels, and the letters themselves?

Did you know as believers we approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need? - Which is going to God through prayer?

Hebrews 4:16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

The reason it is simple to see through the misused imagery of your notion that you stand before God is from how I have indeed read Scripture for years.

You are standing on Earth today, and are not in heaven. Refrain from speaking deluded concepts which you cannot demonstrate. Start reading Scripture without your biased filters in place. Look at what it actually says, rather than what you want it to say.

Isaiah 66:1-2 KJV
1) Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?
2) For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.

When we read His Word, and understand what He says, and that causes us to truly tremble! As you say, we come into the presence of an omniscient God.

And in fact we live unto God at all times, fully visible to Him in every secret thing.

Hebrews 4:12-13 KJV
12) For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
13) Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

These two facts are perhaps the most important of all in my daily walk to remember, that God knows me completely, and loves me fully. And one more, that He has reconciled me to Himself in Christ.

Much love!

Can go to God anytime by worshiping God in spirit and truth. Yes we are on earth but we have a spirit inside of us that is from heaven being born again so it is not such a far-fetched idea to have the ability to reach God.

Thank you for answering my question and you take care: Jared42.

Personally, I think you need to learn both manners and the Bible.

We have been seated together with Christ in the heavenly realm. Do you not believe that to be true?

Much love!
