Preaching is like turning over a cold engine with a starting motor. Once the engine is running you don't need the starter anymore. Then it becomes a question of all the cylinders individually firing in the right order.

Um if you don't have the right camshaft, you need something more than an ECU relearn cycle...

The motor/engine of the moving vehicle has two essential and distinct, combined cycles/processes that ensure it being well tuned and running correctly for its intended purpose. These members comprise of unique parts, like members of an orchestra that brings life to the ears of those listening as the audience, from the commands of the conductor, the leader of the Body of musicians.

These two processes are the cam(shaft) timing cycle, moving the internal crankshaft, valves, pistons, rods in spaces called cylinders, in precise timing and movement, and the ignition timing cycle(s) (with 4 movements - from sucking in the air and fuel mixture to its exhaust).

They all work like a symphony of notes of moving parts or members fulfilling their functions that breathes in and consumes energy to expel its as work or movement, heat and moisture along with other byproducts.

They key and the most crucial part to its success however is the timing of the spark of ignition, or igniting the spark of life at the right time for the motor to perform in complete synchronization. If this is 'off' all the other parts and processes fail to perform as designed.

We as the Body of Christ perform like this mechanical, electrical and physical vehicle to fill ourselves with faith and the word of God and to produce fruits that please our Father. He sets this crucial timing for this 'spark of life' for his Body.

To 'play music' through preaching and instructing, and sharing our love from God, and acts of giving of oneself to strangers and brethren alike. We do it for our conductor first and foremost, our Messiah, however ultimately to please our Father, for his purpose, glory and his name.

Hey John, hope all is good by you.
Agreed, someone once said that "church is not meant for the UN-saved, but for the saved to get built up and edified with the Holy Spirit so as to become stronger in the faith we are to spread to those outside the church. Problem is that the church's are now filled with UNBELIEVERS or, those with mouth service only. Thinking they are Christian because they said a few words a few years back, and sit in a building for an hour or two every Sunday and, grow not at all.
Church's should be charging stations for true Christians who WANT to be used of God...Jesus preached (taught) His disciples and "sent them off"...I think the Church should be seen much the same way but...not gonna happen in my estimation.
And that is the problem with churchianity in America. The christian life is 24/7, 7 days a week, day and night relationship with Christ. For the majority its giving God such a great sacrifice by giving him an hour to 2 hours of your Sunday, leave a tip for God if He is lucky and then go about your week serving self until the next Sunday of sacrifice.

Growth never happens on a Sunday alone being spoon fed a message with no personal study of the scriptures. Small groups/home groups are where the real growth/fellowship takes place and making the time daily to spend with the Lord and depending upon Him throughout your day in prayer/conversation with Him. The church in 2021/22 is in dire straights.

The church of God, once established, is not meant to be preached at but rather to be taught in an interactive way. How else will every member become equipped to fulfill his/her function in the body?
The question that comes to my mind, which church do you say is the True Church of God?

I figure we are SOHC - or we ought to be. No one can serve two masters ;)

Excellent, you really get the analogy that you lead me to write.....single over-head of the same one mind of Christ...not a double mind of two source masters....:D

The church that follows the Spirit of God. There is no denomination that can tie down God's Spirit. It's the other way around. It's only as people surrender to God that He takes over. God will not force Himself on man-made agendas. So then the true church of God has no name. If there is a name it is known only to God. We see in the book of Revelation that God names His saints with a name that is only known to Him. This is about pleasing God, not becoming smug in our assumptions and presumptions. The Lord knows who are His.

Preaching is I talk you listen. Teaching is a dialogue...a back and forth. Jesus taught His disciples by answering hard questions. Teaching is interactive. So then believers need to be taught not preached at. that is unless you believe that there is such thing as clergy whereby the people never grow beyond having to hear the same things over and over again. The modern system is built to fail.
This theology is foolish, not to mention false. Most of the dialogue between Jesus and the disciples consisted of Jesus preaching and the disciples listening. Jesus literally revealed Himself as being the Messiah in a synagogue by reciting Isa. 61:1 where it says the Most High anointed the Christ to preach the good news, not answer interactive questions about the good news. While Christ often answered the disciples' questions to help them understand certain things, His ministry mostly consisted of preaching. The Bible is extremely clear about that. It is also clear about the fact that the ministers in God's Church are there to help the members grow, ergo Paul's words in Eph. 4:11-16.
