I always find it hard when people talk about handouts or keeping other people dependent on your charity. One doesn’t need to make more that 1000$ a month, then one could serve, preach or evangelize the rest of the month.

If my brother constantly needed handouts and I have more than I need, I will gladly keep him on an ongoing handout. When you love someone, you are not concerned with their effort or if they deserve to be poor, it is not relevant. We should give with love and we shouldn’t only give money. Give people a job and help them climb on the social latter, babysit, pay their rent and give because you love them.
If you love your money so much that you are having a hard time figuring out if the person deserves your handout or if you’ll hold them dependent on you.
