Jesus ;)How do we define "truth"?
”Christ died for our sins”I suppose our first sin is our first selfish act, whenever that happens
“that which you are not able to hear”How do we define "truth"?
i gave you a like there, but i have no doubt that we would all define that term differentlyJesus ;)
The smart ones want to hear the truth because then they can make the right choices.“that which you dont want to hear”
ah, wanting may not be the issue so much as simply lacking the context to understand imo, after a certain point anyway. Its have no ears to hear i think, meaning not a sin or anything per se, just that the truth is so foreign to our then current understanding that it cannot be heardThe smart ones want to hear the truth because then they can make the right choices.
When we live life as the Lord taught us, things tend to turn out well and we then understand why the Lord said to do this or not to do that. The wisest people, then, are the ones who obey the Lord. I imagine there are a lot of biblical scholars and theologians who don't have a clue, because they don't try hard to obey the Lord.ah, wanting may not be the issue so much as simply lacking the context to understand imo, after a certain point anyway. ego-death is a really hard thing yehWhen we live life as the Lord taught us, things tend to turn out well and we then understand why the Lord said to do this or not to do that. Thinking right, feeling right, relating right, acting right ....from the get go! = righteousnessYes. Then someone might want you to define "righteousness."
But then I have to ask you to define "right." (I would define it as being obedient to God.)Thinking right, feeling right, relating right, acting right ....from the get go! = righteousness
Perhaps we could say, being in harmony with God.But then I have to ask you to define "right." (I would define it as being obedient to God.)
Are you in harmony with the Ten Commandments?Perhaps we could say, being in harmony with God.
A question you could ask yourself. Are you in harmony with the Ten Commandments?
The expression "in harmony" makes me a bit nervous. I find when I do things the Lord's way, things work out far better. For that reason, I like the word "obedience."A question you could ask yourself.
Is there a disconnect between harmony and obedience? The expression "in harmony" makes me a bit nervous. I find when I do things the Lord's way, things work out far better. For that reason, I like the word "obedience."
Does "harmony" mean Jesus is Lord?Is there a disconnect between harmony and obedience?
But thou hast upheld me because of my integrity,
and set me in thy presence for ever. Psalm 41:12 RSV
Without looking at a dictionary, how would you define “integrity”?
How do you think God defines “integrity”?
No, I think God defines "integrity" as "obedience."God defines integrity as : faithfulness
We define it as :
keeping your word.
being honest
finishing what you start
being dependable
