It’s drastic cutting back of a tree so that all dead wood is removed so the tree can hopefully bounce back and be more fruitful. But it’s drastic. The tree might die, that’s always a possibility. I had thought about our big, beautiful crepe myrtle after they did this to it, that there was no way it would survive it. It was just a big stick in the ground. But it did bounce back. It isn’t as puffed up and glorious as it was, but it’s going to live.

I think sometimes when we are born again, we are completely dead, and a new tree is planted and nurtured. Then THAT tree is pruned.

Ez. 36:26
26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.

Can
be/may be obtained in THIS life, you are doing a lot of philosophizing not cutting straight the word of the Lord.
Hi Johann,

Are we able to fulfill this passage?

Galatians 5:25 KJV
If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Can we in fact "walk in the Spirit"?

Because if we can, this means,

Galatians 5:16 KJV
This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

If we are to spend our time provoking one another to good works, this is my way of provoking, to remind you, that in trusting Jesus, we are able to do He admonishes us to do, in this case, to walk in the Spirit, and in so doing, not do the works of the flesh - sin.

Philippians 4:13 KJV
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Much love!

Incorrect, you show me ONE verse that says "we" can "grab", to use your propositions. Can
be/may be obtained in THIS life, you are doing a lot of philosophizing not cutting straight the word of the Lord.

Not that I have already grasped it all or have already become perfect, but I press on if I may also take hold of that for which I was even taken hold of by Christ Jesus.

I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me.

Not that I did already obtain, or have been already perfected; but I pursue, if also I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by the Christ Jesus;

Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.

Take hold of, possess, apprehend, grab, grasp.

he is not in trust and will not go further with God.
Yet if one is God's redeemed, God will not leave them alone, but will continue to train them to trust more.

And a spy is in here this very day who has entered in and seen the place prepared for us that we can enter in right now, not when we die but right now.

Yet he claims that you cannot actually enter unless God selects you for that. So how then can we say we can just enter ourselves now, the time of our choosing?

But if entrance into a spiritual walking the the Spirit is by your faith - trust that Jesus has already provided the means and the way, then the abundant life sits before you, graces waiting for you.

And no, you've seen, he's seen, I've seen, many do not accept other's testimonies. For myself, this shows the need for all teaching to be firmly grounded in the Word of God, and not in personal testimonies.

Much love!

Paul certainly thought we could walk in the Spirit. I hope for it. But we think God is too slow. We do not have patience because we cannot see that He is doing anything or preparing us for it.

The book of Esther shows the cleansing preparation one must go through to be put before the king, to enter his chambers.

Do not study the Bible.

Read and meditate on it:

“Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all. Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.” (1 Timothy 4:15-16)

“…in his law doth he meditate day and night.” (Psalms 1:2)

Studying can lead to error through the flesh:

“…much study is a weariness of the flesh.” (Ecclesiastes 12:12)

That’s the problem these days; so many students but not enough obedient hearers.
Yes meditation is also essential !!!

No one can enter a kings chambers unless they have been prepared for it and the king himself extends his scepter for them to enter. The holy of holies in the OT speaks of this too.

I never said we can enter at the time of our choosing. God took Israel by a roundabout way rather than straight into the place He had prepared for them because He said, if they see war too soon they will lose courage and turn back from trust.

Or do we not believe Jesus has already provided spiritual life, to walk in the Spirit, right now, only, be it to you according to your faith? This is the truth I have learned. As we trust in Jesus, we walk in the Spirit. We do not have to make effort to walk in the Spirit, our effort is to trust Him, and as we do, we see our lives conform to Him.

Correct. Just as Israel did not accept the testimony of the spies God sent to the land because of fear of the giants rather than trust in God.

We are accepted in the Beloved.

And again, we are accepted in the Beloved.

If we do not believe we are actually reconciled to God, we won't take ahold of this.

I have not walked in the Spirit, although I do believe when our trust has grown firm enough we will. So it’s not that I don’t believe I can.

Yes. God accepts righteous men and He makes a place for them. He also makes a place for men who walk in His holiness.

I realize that. I'm saying it. Not, "entering the king's chambers", I don't find that an accurate analogy for one who is already in Christ. We share with Him, including the life He lives, and provides for us.

If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Do you read that with the caveat, "except you cannot really until God does something else for you"? Or can you read it and believe that He has already enabled you to do that which He admonishes to all His childen? For myself, that's exactly how I read it. Something that can be obeyed in His power through my trusting Him.

Much love!

The only place for us is in Christ. We do not transcend Him, and we do not replace Him. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and there is no other way.

It seems you don't believe you can today.

And this saddens me that you tell me you've never walked in the Spirit. Jesus came to give you abundant life, that abundance is found by walking in the Spirit. The real abundance, that is.

Much love!

Have you not been baptized into Christ, into his death, so that you can walk in newness of life?

Romans 6:3-7 KJV
3) Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
4) Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
5) For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
6) Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
7) For he that is dead is freed from sin.

Much love!

It doesn’t sadden me. I have great hope. But no, I have not yet walked in the Spirit, but I am led by Him. But walking in the Spirit, performing miracles, walking without any sin, no, I have not.
