LOLYou mean you haven't recognized false prophecies about the time of Christ's coming being pushed today by heretics and false prophets?

By definition a false prophet makes false or sinister predictions. A heretic just has false teachings. They're quite different. Confusing the terms is in fact heresy. Is there a difference between a heretic and false prophet?? To me, they’re one and the same.

You are missing some parts of this conversation, that im having with JD.
Let me bring you up to speed.
She began to post Mormon Doctrine on a non-Theology Part of the Forum., that is for TESTIMONY, only., days ago.
So, i asked her why she is doing that, on THAT part of the Forum.
She then PM'd me, and asked if i had "questions".
I had a few.
She told me....that to be baptized into the Mormon Church, you have to agree that the Book Of Mormon is "Scripture", or you cannot become a Mormon Member.
Today i was talking about that, and she decided to deny it, and then she decided to try to change the subject from that conversation, into "how to be a Christian.
So, i asked her 2 times, in 2 more posts, to respond to the TOPIC i posted, and she didnt care to do it.
So, that is not my "bias", that is her dishonesty.
Well by your standard the Apostle Paul is a false prophet:
Paul quoted Habakkuk 1:5 to warn those who would not believe the gospel:
“Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe, though a man declare it unto you.” (Acts 13:41)
And what’s the “the flow and subject of the Bible Chapter”?
“For, lo, I raise up the Chaldeans, that bitter and hasty nation, which shall march through the breadth of the land, to possess the dwellingplaces that are not theirs.” (Habakkuk 1:6)
What do the Chaldeans have to do with those Paul was preaching to???
Thanks @Davy ! Now I have to accept that Paul is a false prophet!
I’ll pass on your advice!
Yes, unless I had a time machine, I could not truly predict the future. Only God can. He is the true prophet. All others may receive the "gift" of prophecy.in that case, anyone trying to predict the future would be a false prophet since noone can predict the future.
What an idiotic attempt at false claims!

Not true. But your a cessationist I see. So everyone is false to you I supposeall apostolic gifts are gone however. The Bible is complete, nothing else to be added.

LOL, a tactic of degrading the competition. I see insecurity in that approach.
@Lifelong_sinner how do you interpret this:
John 10:27-28
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
Thanks for being honest. I've witnessed otherwise myself. And I like to hear from God because I love and miss him.Jesus described those who had been called by the Father, and are saved. And He goes on to describe OSAS.
and yes, as a calvinist, i am a cessationist. There are no more apostolic gifts, no tongues, no future telling prophecy. The Bible is complete and we have everything we need at this point. But let me go even further to describe those who believe in tongues and prophecy…. You wont like this, but because of doubt, those who believe that the apostolic gifts still exist, do so because they need proof, actual proof that they are saved. Faith alone is a struggle for some.![]()
You are missing the context...One who believes that might as well scrap a good portion of the New Testament writings then, because Lord Jesus and His Apostles gave warnings against His enemies a lot.
Why do people keep calling the gifts "apostolic" gifts when in truth the Bible says the Holy Spirit manifests His gifts in the body of Christ.all apostolic gifts are gone however. The Bible is complete, nothing else to be added.

I have not read one scripture that mentions the apostolic gifts.
I have read several scriptures that mentions the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Jane Doe, you always manage to be disingenuous about Mormon beliefs. That’s actually inaccurate, for the reasons we’ve gone over and you’ve ignored my explanations.
"Signs, wonders, and miracles" were indeed apostolic gifts. And Paul said so: I am become a fool in glorying; ye have compelled me: for I ought to have been commended of you: for in nothing am I behind the very chiefest apostles, though I be nothing. Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds [miracles]. (2 Cor 12:11,12) This is confirmed in Hebrews 2.I have not read one scripture that mentions the apostolic gifts.
