Colossians 2:8 (NASB20)
See to it that there is no one who takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception in accordance with human tradition, in accordance with the elementary principles of the world, rather than in accordance with Christ.

What are these empty deceptions, human traditions, elementary principles that scripture puts forth as that that stands against Christ..?
That would be any learning of the things of God that any unregenerated person can learn…. For if an unregenerated person can learn that learning, that learning is earthy, human, of man’s mind, the proof being; it has no power over the works of the flesh and therefore is not from the Spirit of God… For all learning that does not come from the Spirit of God to the believing heart has no power of overcoming the things of the flesh and therefore is useless in the forming of Christ in one… Its only purpose is to tickle the mind, elevate itself above the knowledge of God and sit in the place of God in the heart, it is that which builds up the life of self, builds a stronghold of thinking it knows, justifies itself with its wisdom and is content to sit as God in the heart….
For all learning that comes from the Spirit of God has power to overcome the works of the flesh, it has the power to put to death the life of self, and bring to life the life of Christ…. Then one finds one does not have to try to be a patient person, for the life of Christ in one compels one to be patient… One does not have to try to be loving, for the life of Christ in one compels one to be loving…. One does not have to try to overcome sin, one will find sin being overcome, for the life of Christ that has been brought to birth in the soul will compel all righteous behavior, this is the natural fruit of the learning that comes from above…
For the learning that comes from above is a bringing to birth a newness of life, a real new life that was not alive before, it being the natural growth of the life of Christ in all those that are His…..
Be blessed in the learning that has the power of overcoming the works of the flesh, by means of a real new life….
