Comparing Ecclesiastes 9:1-2
And Romans 14: 1-5.

What similarities do you see?
What is the topic of Ecclesiastes 9:1-2?
What is the topic of Romans 14 1-5?
Is there a difference in tone between Solomon and Pau!? Unless I’ve misunderstood both are about contempt? Does Solomon write with contempt? Does Paul?

What message (or take way) do you see in Solomons’ perspective?
What message (or take away) do you see in Pauls’ perspective?

Ecclesiastes 9:1
For I have taken all of this to heart and explain it that righteous men, wise men, and their deeds are in the hand of God.

Man does not know whether [it will be] love or hatred; anything awaits him. James 4:14-1

It is the same for all.

There is one fate for the righteous and for the wicked; for the good, for the cleaN and for the unclean; for the man who offers a sacrifice and for the one who does not sacrifice.

As the good man is, so is the sinner;
As the swearer is; so is the one who is afraid to swear.

As the good man is, so is the sinner;
As the swearer is; so is the one who is afraid to swear.

Romans 14:1-5
Now accept the one who is weak in faith, but not for the purpose of passing Judgement on his opinions.

One person has faith that he may eat all things, but he who is weak eats vegetables [only].
The one who eats is not to regard with contempt the one who does not eat, and the one who does not eat is not to Judge the the one who eats, for God has accepted him.

Romans 14:5
One person regards one day above another, another regards every day alike. Each person must be fully convinced in his own mind.

For not one of us lives for himself,
And not one of us dies for himself;
For if we live,
We live for the Lord.
Or if we die, we die for the Lord.
therefore whether we live or die,
We are the Lords’

Man does not know whether [it will be] love or hatred; anything awaits him
Exploring:
Man does not know whether [it will be] love or hatred, anything awaits him. (Ecclesiastes)

Man does not know…
James 4:13 come now, you who say “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such city and spend a year there and engage business and make profit.” Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. you are [just] a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. Instead, say “if the Lord wills, we live and also do this and that.”

To me He isn’t speaking of living life in this body, but instead living Life in the body of Christ. Because “in Him we move and have our being”, in Christ is the only “business” and “gain” where if the Lord wills, we Live…

Exploring: man not knowing whether Love or hatred, anything awaits him. Is that having a Living hope? Not knowing whether love or hatred awaits? Is this not knowing what awaits man …not knowing if man will be met with Gods’ Vengeance or met by His Grace? What awaits? I’ve heard Judgement awaits mankind.

1 John 3:2 some translations say “He has not shown us what we will be like when Christ appears.” (Imo) I don’t like that translation because I’m left with the question that the topic is; the world did not know Him, or see Him. The NIV says it this way “it has not yet been shown (revealed) what we will be.” To who has it not be shown? I can’t find the verse now but there is one in the NT that says God has revealed Him and that you know, because God has shown it to you?

It goes on to say “you will know Him when He appears, for you will recognize Him for you will be how Christ is?” How is Christ?

Blows apart for me that this is a simulation like in a computer when His imagery describes this as “a vapor”. What is “a vapor” in regards to what is temporary? I ask because of suffering and perspective of it …the weight of the pain alongside… “a” passing “vapor”?

Vapor has some form of substance; for example vapor can be transferred into pure drinking water?
