If we obey the Lord's commandments, we have integrity. No? Can we be happy without our integrity? Can we be defeated if we have integrity? Does the Lord want us to have integrity?

Some people seem to believe that repentance takes no effort on our part. They seem to think the Lord does all the work. But I believe it is up to us make that effort. I find that I need a lot of help from the Lord, but I have to make the effort.I would even say in order to repent we must have integrity to tell the truth about ourselves. Integrity of heart is the basis of true repentance. At least, that's what it took for me to experience being supernaturally born again of the Spirit

Jesus is the Author and Finisher of our faith, but we must have His Spirit from Him to work through. And how do we receive the gift of the Holy Spirit? REPENTANCE! Unless we model Christ, who will pay attention to our testimony? If we obey the Lord's commandments, we have integrity. No? Can we be happy without our integrity? Can we be defeated if we have integrity? Does the Lord want us to have integrity?
Okay, lol ....you opened the door.*Waits for the inevitable follow up post accusing the op of "works based righteousness" for dare implying Christians must put in effort.*
It's like Christianity Board Bingo. The free space is the accusation "legalist".
Lots of effort on our part, yes... but then God takes up the slack. Without Him we can do nothing. Some people seem to believe that repentance takes no effort on our part. The word "integrity" does not occur in the New Testament, but its equivalents may be seen in "sincerity," "truth," the "pure heart," the "single eye," etc. In the above sense of simplicity of intention it is equivalent to being honest, sincere, genuine, and is fundamental to true character
Proverbs 11:3
The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.
Proverbs 19:1
Better [is] the poor that walketh in his integrity, than [he that is] perverse in his lips, and is a fool.
Proverbs 20:7
The just [man] walketh in his integrity: his children [are] blessed after him..
Psalms 7:8
The LORD shall judge the people: judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness, and according to mine integrity [that is] in me.
Being transparent before God and then walking in his righteousness has to be true integrity of a believer.
Job 2:3 | And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause |
Job 2:9 | Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die. |
Job 27:5 | God forbid that I should justify you: till I die I will not remove mine integrity from me. |
Job 31:6 | Let me be weighed in an even balance that God may know mine integrity. |
Did Christ had integrity?Unless we model Christ, who will pay attention to our testimony?
What denomination are you referring to?Jesus is the Author and Finisher of our faith, but we must have His Spirit from Him to work through. And how do we receive the gift of the Holy Spirit? REPENTANCE! LOL
Bob there is a very popular Christian denomination that sounds like, but it is a cult. Most everything they teach is a false doctrine, but itching ears love them.
He was flawless. I would imagine that's called "integrity?"Did Christ had integrity?
There are a few different denominations, but they have the same founder from the Reformation and use his name. Hint: he created cessationism. Demons hate the Spirit. What denomination are you referring to?

Yes - obedient to God's will (as God knows, and wants, what is best for us).He was flawless. I would imagine that's called "integrity?"
So one group of churches are perfect, and the others have been led astray? There are a few different denominations, but they have the same founder from the Reformation and use his name. Hint: he created cessationism. Demons hate the Spirit.
