There are thousands of satellites orbiting Earth, and that’s not all — tons of space junk from previous collisions are also cluttering the orbit around the planet. Astronomers say there’s more to come, and it could spell trouble.

That fireball lit up the nights sky with flashes. Only a meteor would do that. Space junk just streaks across the sky and breaks apart.

Notice the satellite doesn't light up the nights sky with brilliant flashes of light. Only a meteor travelling at ultra high speeds would explode into flashes that light up the nights sky.
