Not unusual. Happens everyday. Space junk, etc.. lose orbit and crash back to earth.

That fireball lit up the nights sky with flashes. Only a meteor would do that. Space junk just streaks across the sky and breaks apart.

Landsat satellites do that.
Notice the satellite doesn't light up the nights sky with brilliant flashes of light. Only a meteor travelling at ultra high speeds would explode into flashes that light up the nights sky.
