Interesting that the Bible is "the Word of God", unless someone quotes a translation you disagree with.

No, not at all.
Just saying that it is unfortunate that the pagan holiday name attached itself to the church.
I understand what Christians mean when they use the term. I prefer to call it Resurrection Day. And I don't expect
anyone to fall in line with my wishes, just surprised when I encounter someone that doesn't know about it.
Well, we will continue celebrating Jesus rising from the dead. If you don't want us to call it "Easter," what do you want us to call it?

Why was the word "Passover" removed from your Bible? And again, what is wrong with celebrating Jesus rising from the dead?
The word "Passover" was NOT removed from "my" Bible.
The word "Easter" is in the KJV in error. (not "my" Bible)
Nothing wrong with celebrating Jesus rising from the dead.
But naming the day after a pagan holiday is strange, don't you think?

I suppose we need to be careful about this. I'm guessing that @Hobie
brought this up as a way to discredit mainstream Christianity.
He might have similar issues with Christmas and All Hallows Eve. (Halloween)
Sabbatarians typically refuse to participate in these "pagan" holidays.

Yes, I won't discourage anyone in that regard. I prefer to call it Resurrection Day. But I don't expect anyone to
fall in line with my wishes, just surprised when I encounter someone that doesn't know about it.

People can't know about it unless someone tells them. Nobody has told me the full story. I just hear someone say it's a pagan holiday, once in a while.

Some of the traditions that come with the holidays are more pagan than what we do at church.
Hunting for Easter eggs, bunnies and such. Christmas has its ties as well. Decorating trees, yule logs, and such.
But not a huge deal. Doing those things doesn't make you a pagan. There is no worship involved.
If someone asked me to be involved with a pagan ritual, I would abstain. Have you ever marched around a May pole?
I was shocked when a Sabbatarian showed me this scripture. But further analysis should it was a false accusation.
Have you seen this? You said you respect the words of the Prophets of God, correct?

Jeremiah 10:2-4 KJV
Thus saith the Lord, Learn not the way of the heathen,
and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest,
the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.
4 They deck it with silver and with gold;
they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.

I believe the prophets accurately quoted the Lord.

You can tell your child today is the day Jesus was born, and leave it at that, or you can celebrate the event with a decorated tree, gifts, dinner, and Christmas Eve worship service. Which will make a bigger impression on the child?

Sometimes this concept of agency has caused the translators of our Bible difficulties. The Hebrew word for “God”(elohim) has a wide range of meanings. Depending on context, it can mean the Supreme Deity, or “a god” or “gods” or even “angels” or human “judges.” This difficulty is reflected in verses like Exodus 21:6

The KJV reads… “Then his master shall bring him unto the judges;”

The NIV reads… “then his master must take him before the judges.”

But

The NASB reads… “then his master shall bring him to God”

So too the RSV… “then his master shall bring him to God”

Clearly, because the judges of Israel represented God as His agents, they are called “God,” elohim. As the slave gave his vow before these representatives of God, he was in fact making a binding vow before Jehovah. The agents were as God.

So Translations... kinda matter if you don't have the tools to compare...

BTY.... I never said which Bible was correct.... So Let's shut it down before it begins...

Paul
Not to be left out

And the Septuagint LXX says in Exodus 21:
6 his master shall bring him to the judgment-seat of God, and then shall he bring him to the door, —to the door-post, and his master shall bore his ear through with an awl, and he shall serve him for ever.

That's good. "Nearly Inspired Version." - LOL

I don't don't have anything against the KJV. I just prefer the NIV.
I do have a problem with the KJO types.
I laugh when they tell me that the NIV left verses out of the Bible.
Have you heard that one? - LOL

I have a Greek interlinear NT with KJV on one side and NIV on the other.
A great resource really.

And frankly, the KJV of 1611 was a triumph in Bible translation FOR THE TIME.
All done by hand. No computers, or telephones, or...
I really like the NET Full Notes Edition and it explains all the evidence for the “left out “ verses

I have no problem with that personally. But some folks do.

I've never seen a tree that was decked with silver and gold.

I remember the recommendation by a few fine folks here. I checked it out.
I think Dan Wallace was involved in the translation. Good guy.

You have never seen a fir tree that was cut from a forest and brought into a house that some put gold and tinsel on?

You have never gone past an uncut tree that had gold and tinsel on it?

I've seen trees with tinsel, but not gold or silver.

I still think John 5:4 should be in there though. Verse 7 makes no sense without verse 4
