J.van der Sloot just plead guilty to extortion of the Holloway family in the disappearance of Natalie Holloway in 2005. He received 22 yr to be served concurrently with his sentence in prison in Peru, of 28 yrs.. In 2010 to the day, 5 yrs later, he beat to death Stephanie Flores in her room. He was never convicted in Natalie's disapperance or death.

Natalie and her graduation class went to Aruba as a graduation celebration.

He confessed he bludgeoned Natalie to death after she refused his sexual advanced. Just as he did Ms. Flores.
Her body has never been found.

RIP Natalie & Stephanie

He now will not be prosecuted in Aruba, they do have limited statue of 12 yrs for murder. It's been 18 years.

DO NOT GET MURDERED IN ARUBA, THERE IS NO JUSTICE AFTER 12 YRS WITH NO CONVICTION.

He certainly proved his guilt by his deeds in the murder of the Peruvian women. Some people are very evil. I read he had help to dispose of Nataliee's body, something about his dad renting a boat, and they dumped her in the ocean, allegedly.

He said in court that he and Natalie were alone on the beach and after he beat her to death, he pushed her body into the water.
So according to him he was alone, no brothers, & no dad helped.

Since it was a federal court, no cameras. The proffer & his statement are to be released later. He claimed to have a spiritual awakening and cried at Beth's impact statement. He did apologize to all.

You cannot trust anything he says to be truth or lie.

Why don't they get him to tell where he put Natalie 's body?

RIP.

The FBI gave him a polygraph which he passed and they said verified he was now telling the truth.

Buried at sea from a boat I read somewhere, meaning someone helped dispose of Natalie in the water, wrapped, tied to an anchor and sunk.
I don't imagine a body left in the beach water would vanish, someone at the beach would see that. I suppose it could disappear, eaten by big fish. I still think he had help. Dead bodies in warn water rot and float to the surface.

“Today, I can tell you with certainty that after 18 years, Natalee’s case is solved. As far as I’m concerned, it’s over. It’s over,” Beth Holloway said outside the courthouse.

“Joran van der Sloot is no longer the suspect in my daughter’s murder. He is the killer,” Holloway said. “He finally confessed that he killed Natalee. He described when and how he killed her. He said after killing her on the beach in Aruba, he put her into the water and that was the last that he ever saw her.”

Yes, I watch Court TV. They were in B'ham in the courtroom, and are continuing to update.
It was always suspected that his dad helped him, but we have many rumours about many things.
If Beth is confident that it was Joran and she has justice, we can only go by that.

The consolation is,he's not having a good time in a foreign prison after killing a female citizen by beating her to death.

In his homeland his family's wealth held influence. Not anymore.

Per CNN report

In addition to his 28-year prison sentence for murdering Flores, van der Sloot was also convicted in 2021 of trafficking cocaine into his Peruvian prison. He was sentenced to an additional 18 years in Peru, according to a sentencing memorandum.

“Because Peruvian law prohibits prison sentences from exceeding a total of 35 years (unless given a life sentence), the Defendant is currently scheduled for release from prison in Peru on or about June 10, 2045 (35 years after his original arrest in Peru),” the court document states.

My daughter said she read somewhere that the minimum for release can be after as littles as 14 yrs served in Peru for murder. This is why I looked up the availability of Peruvian law to see if this was true. I couldn't find any such except what is below:
Under Article 106, homicidio simple ("simple homicide") carries a maximum penalty of 20 years.

So it seems all these
28 + 20+ 18 = 66 of yrs will NOT be what he serves!

There's a difference in concurrent sentencing and consecutive.

Yes, from my understanding he will serve all the above sentences concurrently.
Which means all at the same time under one sentence as the original sentence.Serving as opposed to consecutive which means one follows when another ends.
