Please do not include all Democrats in this. Not all Democrats feel this way. My fiance an staunch Democrat works hard everyday and is actively fighting to not end up on disability even though she has two autoimmune diseases that qualify her for disability. Her ex-husband is the same way, but he ended up on disability as he has two different kind of cancers and is on low dose oral chemo for the foreseeable future. This oral chemo fatigues him and makes his brain very foggy, otherwise he would be working.
I also know many Democrats who hunt and fish and can grow their own crops.
Blanket statements like yours do disservice to those in that group that you have blanketed.
These type of blanket statements sure do disservice.
I'm a Dem-- retired now. Worked very hard in my life.
You can crow till the cows come home, but I am a firm believer in social programs. Everyone should work, but if something happens, the government can help.
It is really not supposed to be this way. In the OT, God had ways to help the poor.
Also as for Sodom and Gomorrah's destruction, I noted this initially:
Eze 16:49 49 “‘
Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were
arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy.
IMO alot of the GOP fall into this category.
I am surprised and saddened that the majority of the evangelicals I read about are very hateful in their words. I don't know what the heck happened --well, yes I do--there was, a few years ago a "Pandora"--who opened up a chest of meanness and folks who are supposed to be christian or who say they are, are now all about themselves, and taking Jesus right along with them, when that is the last thing Jesus would do. He did not mix politics and religion. Render unto Caesar.
there are things both sides cannot agree upon, but the hateful rhetoric that I hear, IMO, is proof that God is not behind those speaking it.
Ignore me if you want, that is fine--I come here usu for Bible study and have kept my mouth shut for awhile.
