Isn’t it great when we no longer need to have the last word...( not that you ever did) ...when one walks away, for me it’s a huge strength!!....it’s not a weakness..imo of course,xx

A political spectrum with 100% government on the left, 0% government on the right and a Constitutionally-limited republic (which America is) in the middle.
A synonym for a Leftist is generally a globalist. America is a special kind of Constitutionally-limited republic. It is federal. Federalism is the division of power, which Leftists and globalists oppose. Take the abortion issue. The Roe v Wade decision was a violation of our federal form of governnment.
The 10 Amendment enshrines the federalist nature of our government. There are specific powers the sovereign States grant to the Creature of the Constitution. All other powers are reserved for the States, including regulating such things as abortion.
It is incorrect to say Hitler was on the right. He was a fascist, which means private property publicly controlled. It is to the right of communism, which is public property, publicly controlled. To say someone who only want 95% government is not a Leftist shows a skewed world view.

A former friend of mine always had to have the last word.
Even when his argument was totally obliterated with undeniable facts, he would not capitulate. He'd respond with, "You are never going to convince me of that." I knew to leave it there.

That's THE question!
"Community" may be insufficiently specific. Here is the balance between unity and diversity.
Achieving a goal requires unity. My wife and I are planning a vacation. We can't go on vacation together if she goes west and I go east.
Once we have unity on the goal, we can embrace diversity of achieving that goal. For instance, for our 10th anniversary, she wants to go back to Vegas were we honeymooned, in part. How do we get there? Let's weigh the options. What are the pro's and con's?
A basic problem in our country is the vision of what our country is to become. The problem is not a lack of diversity but a lack of unity. Implied by Leftists is minorities are Leftists. When reality bites them, they lose their minds. This explains the abject hatred they have for Clarence Thomas and Sarah Palin.
A family member of mine was the same, I think it’s to do with pride and ego, it’s such a shame as they were stuck in that mindset all of their life and never grew,.....we’re never self aware and just stayed in that narrow/ tunnel vision of their own mind, never ever took on board what others would voice, it was either their way or the highway...in other words they were never ever wrong, everyone else was.........that’s my opinion of them.

Divine providence arranged for me to meet this former friend when he was ready to commit suicide stemming from the collapse of his marriage.
He admitted to having a porn addiction. At the end of my relationship with him, I told him that him that porn addiction is not his basic problem but pride and ago. In writing, I gave examples and wondered how much his self-righteous pride contributed to his divorce. 3 examples were from the church that he was expelled from due to self-righteous pride. This is unheard of!
He never talked to me again. Cannot face the truth of his sinful nature.

Aside from irrational behavior, or a stubborn unwillingness to see another's point of view, (which is prideful and arrogant), arguments can be beneficial.
Wars are beneficial. When is there peace? After the war is over. Sin needs to be controlled and subdued wherever and in what form it comes. Not to say there is always sin involved, but usually there is some injustice or wrong thinking.
We are passionate and emotional about our faith and so express it sometimes fervently (Like the #1 Battle of the Century between Islam and the Jews/Christians).
God gave us emotions. He is emotional! We are just to be slow to anger. He didn't say we aren't supposed to get angry. Jesus will come in wrath - after a couple thousand years of it building up.
We are protective of our families, property and rights and willing to fight for them. Guys of course have more testosterone, therfore more aggressive - we are made that way. So woman can't grasp our squabbling sometimes: "What's all this about, can't we all be nice ... play nice" ... "Yeah, after I punch him in the face ... I'll be fine. He'll be okay too after he gets a few licks in." The little girls would rather dress up with their little dolly and play house ... would you like a cup of tea? Yes, isn't this so much fun?" Boys are competive and some have that natural born warrior in them and will not go down without a fight - doesn't matter what game or sport or topic of discussion.
Arguments are verbal fights. God ordained wars and so there is a time to fight and a time for peace. After a fight, we reflect on what was said and sometimes realize we were wrong and make amends, we learn from it as we have from wars. It seems that emotions have to be released, we have to vent, because we haven't learned self control.

On this subject of arguments and arguing, I've given it up for the most part of my life these days, as If I really wanted them in my life in the first place. I do not get off on having to even attempt to belittle people to see my point if needed. And I really do not do this, from my vantage and view; it is not in me to stoop so low. It's a sight of weakness in the other person's argument or view, imo.
It does get frustrating however, that ignorance and losing control of one's goal, from either side can place/play a huge and common role in miscommunications even when both seemingly have each others view in mind, and heart. It depends of course, how important the topic at hand is to one or both participants.
Arguments with their heightened emotion friction and aggressiveness will never go away, although we can always volunteer to play referee with ourselves and in our words, to minimize or even prevent any damage done by us, when conveying our views and beliefs.

Not all arguments are really arguments per say.
Sadly we have some who think they are right, and will attack anyone who disagrees with them.. That is when a simple discussions turns into an argument..
