Thanks. I thought it may be a good gift for her. Amazon only has one copy for 58 dollars! I do find mushrooms interesting. I have MS (autoimmune) and wish I was smart or knowledgeable enough to seek natural medicine choices. It is interesting that there are things that could help in the woods, but I will never trust myself enough to give it a try.
Yeah it’s a bit expensive. It just came out this year. It’s for the east coast. You may be able to find state specific mushroom books. Mushroom baskets and foraging knives are also good gifts for those into mushroom hunting.

Or a sharpening stone, lol. I just used a paring knife from the kitchen to collect mushrooms. I sharpened it first. That helps.

Do chanterelles grow in the UK?
Chanterelles are common but localised in the UK. They grow in coniferous forests in mossy areas or in broadleaved forests. In Scotland, chanterelle forms mycorrhizal (mutually beneficial) associations with birch and pine

Found some Apioperdon pyriforme / Pear shaped puffballs at their edible stage. Cooked and added them to my sweet potato hashbrowns.
