The Road Traveled Dream

* Prophet - Someone who tells the truth
* Profit - Someone out for personal gain and the ego boost

After saying that I laid down for a nap. I had a dream in which I was driving down a country road full of material as I have on my web site. On that country road I noticed two things...

1. A farmer with a horse sign on his driveway, busy about much hay, and on his equipment working on his projects
2. A much smaller place that looked inviting

So I stopped at the much smaller place. As I was sharing my material it became evident that they were not really interested in what I had to say. After waking from the dream my thoughts were two...

1. The farmer type of the earlier generation did not make time for idle talk
2. The people of the current generation can make time for idle talk. But at the end of the day just as bad as everyone else

Second vision... Very much the post Covid scene these days in which the house was filled with idleness. So many post Covid have taken their fellowship out of the church and into their electrical devices. In the vision there was the road ahead. In which the challenge, I believe, is to break people out of their post Covid habits into a more productive lifestyle.

There is wisdom in stopping in places where work is active rather than where it is inviting but there is no active work. There's a verse that reminds me of this situation. Proverbs 14:4 says: Where there are no oxen, the feeding trough is empty, but an abundant harvest comes through the strength of an ox.

But... It relates to the road traveled dream. It is easy to get stuck in the wrong place in life!

Road Traveled Dream Recap:

I have had recurring dreams on my stops. Many of which are places like the second stop with the unhealthy atmosphere and idle people. I had another dream last night that I was at the ideal stop. It was a very nice church filled with wonderful people. The stay there was long, of much delight, but I did not know where I was. When the dream ended I asked a lady, "Where am I so I can know the address." And with no answer I awoke. My first thought was hating I didn't get the address but seconds later realized I was back home and it was all a dream.

In my life, especially in 2025, I want my feet on the right road and healthy path. With so many church folks I see the perils of the second stop and worry about both the member and leadership. The path I currently feel good about is...

1. Health drink - Daily greens, Green tea, and coffee mixture
2. Health food - Life cereal (also has good things like iron)
3. Wood - Exercise getting wood in (enjoying also the wood stove)
4. Church - There is a nice church I have been attending that have very nice people. But the worship is only once a week.

I had another dream relating to the road traveled in which I had arrived at a wonderful church. It was the kind of atmosphere I wanted to spend all day in. The church looked like it was built on a cliff overlooking a beautiful sea-mountain scenery. It was beauty like I never seen. After a good deal of time it was time to go so I asked a lady where the place was so I could record the address. I woke up before the reply and spent time regretting I did not know the location of the place.

Dream - While in my sleep I dreamt of a large serpent before me. Very large, about 12’ in length, and looked like the images from old Egypt. I looked at it eye to eye unafraid and then it disappeared out of my sight. It had the look of the possibilities of doing me great harm but didn’t. But definitely had the possibilities.

Interpretation – As we journey ahead there are a large serpents in our way capable of doing us great harm if we let them. If we are sure of our way we will be able to look them in the eye and they will do us no harm.

I had a dream that I had moved into a large mansion. And there in the mansion I was in a basement covered in cobwebs. I quickly wished I was back to my two room house. I love my place. It is a mansion to me.

Dream Interpretation - Again on the road traveled dreams I have been having. It is a easy thing to think one has arrived. When in reality the beautiful place arrival may not be that pretty once home is set up. A place where God is with you may not be that luxurious, but God can make it into a nice stay.

I have been having “road traveled” dreams over the last year. I have a Pentecostal Holiness lady friend named Louis who has invited me over to a church dinner Friday. Now this lady friend is married and more motherly than anything. In my dream she and I were talking in a nice resort type setting. I was well dressed and hair combed all neat. I was sitting on the bed trying to find things I wanted to show her. Especially topics on how well I was doing.

While trying to navigate my cell phone the late John MacArthur would automatically play on the radio. I tried to get it to quit and it wouldn’t. I can remember thinking… Bluetooth! Now John MacArthur was very fundamentalist in his teaching. When I awoke I realized that it is definitely the will of God for me to continue to walk the fundamentalist path. Even though nobody else is doing it. And leaving little for me to brag about in this day and time. But for me to continue to do well I must remain on the fundamentalist path.
