Hello
@Doug,
I am sorry to cause you confusion.
There are two mysteries referred to in Ephesians, 'The Mystery of Christ', made known to all the N.T., Apostles and Prophets, which was also the subject of the O.T. prophets, (
being expressed as types and shadows and cloaked in mystery). also of the gospels, and the early epistles of Paul. At what time the Apostles and Prophets were given the revelation concerning' The Mystery of Christ' would have to have been when they were divinely equipped for their ministry.
'The Mystery', was divinely revealed to Paul only, and concerns the Church which is the Body of Christ. Divinely revealed to Paul, and made known by him in the epistles written from Prison, which were unsearchable because not the subject of the Old Testament Prophets, or any other Scripture.
There are other mysteries as you have pointed out, such as that concerning Israel's blindness, which was revealed in Romans, the parables are also spoken of as 'The Mysteries of the Kingdom'. but it is the two spoken of in Ephesians which we are concerned with at the moment.
I hope you will join me in praying the prayer of Ephesians 1:17-23: For this subject is not understood by intellect, but by revelation from above.
Thank you, Doug,
In Christ Jesus
our risen and glorified
Saviour, Lord and Head.
Chris
