Agreed.

They would have stayed though IF the teachings of Jesus were not difficult to follow.
They left BECAUSE THEY DID NOT BLIEVE

Here one more time for you to see.

1. Jesus said eat My Flesh and drink my blood
2. They responded. this is a hard saying who can understand it

60 Therefore many of His disciples, when they heard this, said, “This is a hard saying; who can understand it?”

3. Jesus response

61 When Jesus knew in Himself that His disciples complained about this, He said to them, “Does this offend you? 62 What then if you should see the Son of Man ascend where He was before? 63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. 64 But there are some of you who do not believe.” For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who would betray Him.

Jesus knew before this conversation even started many verses before. who did not believe. He also told them what it meant to get life (eternal) and everythign he promised

It is the spirit who gives life.. the words he speaks are spirit and life.

they did not believe his words. Nothing he said would they understand

so when you say they understood and walked away, your in error. they did not understand THATS WHY THEY WALKED AWAY

THEY - the ones that left - said
THIS TEACHING IS DIFFICULT.
Yes. And Jesus responded to that. see above.

when you understand Gods word. it is not difficult..

Peter understood. they did not
Many never become Christian because they feel the cost is too high.
Luke 14:28
I agree 100% they fail to realize the price has been paid in full

Really???

So YOU believe a non believer should receive communion
and
be baptized??
They believe you recieve communion and get baptized TO get saved.

so in essence. since their belief is in their works. they are non believers, who believe non believers should do this

so why do you not ask them?

He spoke parables so that seeing they may not see. and hearing they may not here.

He already told these people they did not believe. So he told the parable.. Eat my flesh..

it worked. they left.. (they saw and did not believe, they heard and did not believe
Never heard this reason before.
So you really think Jesus wanted them to not see and not hear??

Right.
Easy if it's only symbolic...
difficult if it's real.
easy if you BELIEVE

only difficult if you are hard of hearing..

Jesus said it in the very begining. You want fed physical food. I am here to give you spiritual food. which if you eat. you will live forever.

Manna was food from God.. They ate and died

My manna is the word of God. Which if I eat and believe, I will not die which is what Jesus promised

The only problem for you is NOTHING in the conversation discounts what Jesus said.
No this is your problem.. I agree with you. Nothing discounts what he said.,. I believe it ALLLLLL
52 Then the Jews started to argue among themselves, saying, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?” 53 Jesus said to them,

“Amen, amen, I say to you,
unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man
and drink his blood,
you do not have life within you.

What does it mean when Jesus says "Amen amen I say to you...." I've told you this before you aren't arguing with me. The words are clear and right in front of you.
You just proved my point,.

this is all you want to focus on

You ignore the rest of what Jesus said

I showed you (and the room) what seperates you and me, and you just proved it again.

Ask them?
EG.....I know Catholic doctrine.
Why would I ask anyone?

The CC does not believe that communion and baptism saves.

I'd get into this more but this isn't the place.
And I'm tired of explaining what the CC teaches.

Most Protestants don't want to hear it.
They just like to continue to believe what they THINK the CC teaches.

And, I'm not Catholic.
But I do think that if you're going to reject a denomination,,,you should know why.

What other words but Jesus words should I focus on? Are you kidding right now? Why say it three times if he didn't mean eat my flesh and drink my blood?
See. once again you proved my point

YOUR FOCUSED ON 7 WORDS

You not only ignore everythign else jesus said. But you ignore what he said that those who did what he asked would get.

see how you refuse to even comment on those things??

Your making it way to easy for me to expose what your doing.l.

Btw bolding words and making the font bigger doesn't make you right. You know that don't you? You're angry.
I never said it did

I bolded in both posts to highlight the words YOU FOCUS ON

and the words I FOCUS ON.

now it is for you and the rest of the room to decide

I could really care less.

I have many former catholics in my group. I know what they believe also. Not to mention I have spoken to many on here.

they all say the same thing.

Now listen to mine....

The dicsiples that wandered away wanted physical food.
Jesus offered them spiritual food.

They said it was a difficult teaching and so they left.
WHAT was a difficult teaching?
That Jesus was like the manna of Moses' time?

At the point that they said it was a difficult teaching is when Jesus doubled down
on what He was stating and He did not call them back.

This has always caused questioning on my part.

Yet you say they believed saved people do these works. not unsaved..
YOU made the statement as to communion and baptism.
You stated they are a work and mentioned unbelievers. (not going back to check - you can if you care to).

I said that ONLY believers can receive communion and be baptized.

lol. They believe it is part of salvation..
Not starting a debate on baptism here.
Believers are told to receive communion when they are gathered.
Jesus was recognized by the disciples on the road to Emmaus when He broke the bread...
just like His body had been broken.

THIS IS MY BODY
which will be given up for you.

The next day that body was hanging on a cross.

I could really care less.
Then don't mention Catholic doctrine if you don't care.

And those on here....
I sometimes wonder.

dude you are ignoring Jesus

You quoted 1 sentence he said, Ignore what he said those who eat it WOULD recieve. and ignored everything else he said in the passage.

You are sounding like a normal catholic who is spoonfed what to believe making you unable to actually discuss a passage in question.. Again, your focused in 7 workds

we both believe Jesus said those words. We believe what he said.

the difference is you ignore everything else he said

again, your making it to easy

spiritual food is not the literal flesh and blood of jesus

so what are you arguing?

But Jesus meant Judas...not the disciples.
64 But there are some of you who do not believe.” For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who would betray Him

some (plural)
They (plural)
and one (judas)

yes. he meant the disciples who left.

YOU made the statement as to communion and baptism.
You stated they are a work and mentioned unbelievers. (not going back to check - you can if you care to).
No. You mentioned they were done by believers. and thus not a work.
I said that ONLY believers can receive communion and be baptized.
If they were believers, they are already saved, and do not need communion or to get baptized.

You doi realise catholics baptize babies before they even know who jesus is do you not?
Not starting a debate on baptism here.
Believers are told to receive communion when they are gathered.
I never said otherwise now have I.

Communion is a ceremony, a ritual. an ongoing of the passover meal. in which we do in remembrance of Jesus

We are talking about the flesh in John 6. which is not the flesh of the passover..
Jesus was recognized by the disciples on the road to Emmaus when He broke the bread...
just like His body had been broken.

THIS IS MY BODY
which will be given up for you.

The next day that body was hanging on a cross.
Yes. that body, which ANYONE who eats will live forever..

But you think it is somethign we eat all the time, regularly.

thats the point, they are not the same

Then don't mention Catholic doctrine if you don't care.
I am discussing this with a catholic and you jumped in.

Most Catholics don't know what their denomination teaches...
that's why they leave it.
And those on here....
I sometimes wonder.
lol.. Or they know what their denomination teaches. and because of it and after studying Gods word. they leave it.

Not going to check.
I meant that Jesus knew who would betray Him....Judas.

The rest is plural...yes.
