Matthew 16:28 is interesting, but too tired to deal with looking it up in a few different versions.
Yes, please do.
Here is what the historian Josephus said about AD 70
Code:
Thus were the miserable people persuaded by these deceivers, and such as belied God
himself; while they did not attend nor give credit to the signs that were so evident, and did
so plainly foretell their future desolation, but, like men infatuated, without either eyes to
see or minds to consider, did not regard the denunciations that God made to them. Thus
there was a star resembling a sword, which stood over the city, and a comet, that continued
a whole year. Thus also before the Jews' rebellion, and before those commotions which
preceded the war, when the people were come in great crowds to the feast of unleavened
bread, on the eighth day of the month Xanthicus,[Nisan,] and at the ninth hour of the
night, so great a light shone round the altar and the holy house, that it appeared to be bright
day time; which lasted for half an hour.
Look, I don't know the truth but while in the meantime the church is waiting for ~2000 years I am inclined to look at unfulfilled prophecies. For instance, chapters 12 - 14 of Zachariah are not fulfilled and they match pretty well with 2025, a few quotes :
Zach 12:3 On that day I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples. All who lift it will surely hurt themselves.
And all the nations of the earth will gather against it.
Israel getting more isolated by the day due to the Gaza war.
Zach 12:10 “And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and pleas for mercy, so that, when they look on me,
on him whom they have pierced, they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for an only child, and weep bitterly over him, as one weeps over a firstborn.
Zach 14:3 Then the LORD will go out and fight against those nations as when he fights on a day of battle.
Zach 14:4 On that day his feet shall stand on the Mount of Olives that lies before Jerusalem on the east,
and the Mount of Olives shall be split in two from east to west by a very wide valley, so that one half of the Mount shall move northward, and the other half southward.
Could be Jesus return, He ascended to heaven from Mount of Olives and likely will return on the same place.
