He was dead instantly.

Thankfully can't play the video, but i believe he died in surgery , so it wasn't instant. Not sure he had much chance of surviving though. One report I read was that he was wearing protection and the bullet bounced off and hit his neck, any reports saying the in the US ?

A roof top is vantage point for clear shots, security people would know that.

They were talking to a protection officer on sky news earlier today. He conveyed that Charlie wouldn't have had official protection, only what he would have paid for and it's not cheap. Also as he has been public speaking for some time he perhaps didn't think he would be a target, which may have also Impacted what protection he felt he needed. If you consider that the shooter on the roof with Trump was missed by professional security, its not surprising that the same thing happened here.

I, as a moderate independent, didn’t agree with Charlie Kirk, but no one should be murdered for a difference of opinion. My fiance, a Democrat, has said the same thing. She certainly isn’t celebrating his death. I know many other Democrats, they too aren’t celebrating.
