Please pray for me as primary giver to have more strength and patience with myself and for my child on the spectrum. I would love healing but that prayer from myself has not been answered maybe God is waiting on someone else to pray.

This may be worth a thread in its own right.

A prayer for the littlest duck. A prayer for Mama Nightingale. And I'll not forget Mr. Duck, as he provides love and spiritual support for his family.

@Angelina and @Lambano

Thank you. We had an eloping scare recently- sort of. I was right behind little duck. Little duck runs fast. Mama has asthma. Really bad. Little duck was fine. Mama was not fine. Thankfully good people I who know immediately knew what was happening and helped.

Unfortunately I was in my nightgown barefoot in public and I hadn't shaved my legs and that was not awesome.

So, now we spent $200+. On everything for peace of mind. Video monitors, safety locks, anchors for cabinets. Just because for the cabinets. I have severe anxiety and I worry about the cabinets consistently even though there has never been a problem. It just worries me.

Note: If you know anyone who is a caregiver for special needs, I really recommend these combination locks for cabinets for things that are not safe. (Medicine, cleaners, etc) This is the second best investment I made. (I know I need new hinges.)

Father, You are Jehovah Rapha, our healer. I believe for miracle healing and that negative symptoms can be healed in Jesus Precious name. I thank You for the talents and abilities of those on the spectrum, despite the struggle. I thank You for their innocence and different gifts and ways of looking at the world. I pray for Blue Nightengale to give her patience for her child, and strength for herself. Help her to give herself grace as she helps her child. I pray for this child also, because there are challenges socially as well as sensory sensitivity. I pray that the positive far outweighs the negative and that this child will grow up in love and admonition in Your name. In Jesus Precious name, amen

Thank you everyone again. I just found out I am going to be a grandma from my oldest.

This is a big day and I am in a lot of shock
Well, congratulations, Grandmama BlueNightingale! I'm sure you'll make a wonderful grandmother!

(I just became great-grandpa Lambano earlier this year. Damn, I'm getting old.)

Wow, sister! Idk if congratulations are in order, or prayer ...or both! It's a whole new world of blessings. ❤️
Thank you, both lol

She has a good man and I just would like to see them get married. He said he's waiting for a ring so we're on a ring quest.

Keep the kid off the electronic pacifiers....
Huge temptation but spectrum kids get super addicted....give them books for hyper focusing....other more "old fashioned " type games....ones that cause reasoning skills and thinking skills. They will surprise you with what they can do. Yes, speech centers are affected but that's not got anything to do with skills. A manual typewriter is a godsend for them. Lots of things that are really good can come from a spectrum child. Just a matter of working with COMPETENT professionals.

Yes, they do. That is part of why we don't have a TV in the house and they don't get tablets. sml

Little Duck is an unusually gifted artist and reads in multiple languages. It is not regular autism. It is Hyperlexia III. Fortunately, they tend to grow out of that one. It is just a matter of patience.

I used to think it was amazing when little 2 year olds start reading books without a lot of help and now when I see it, I instantly think "oh no."

If you can get him to work on multi-step problem solving skills....that would be VERY advantageous for him later. Sometimes crazy multi-step problems/puzzles that you or I would pull our hair out over.
