@Behold,
The teaching that there are two gospels—one for the Jews and another for the Gentiles, and that only Paul’s gospel is legitimate—is false and must be corrected using the words of Jesus and the testimony of His chosen apostles. From the beginning of His ministry, Jesus declared that there is only one gospel, and that is the gospel of the kingdom. In Mark 1:14–15 it is written,
“Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, and saying, ‘The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.’” Jesus did not say there are two gospels, one before His death and one after,
He spoke of one gospel, the gospel of the kingdom of God.
This same gospel, Jesus said, will continue to be preached to the very end of the world. In Matthew 24:14 He declared, “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.” This shows beyond question that the gospel of the kingdom was not only for the Jews and not only for the time before the cross, but is the one message that must go to the whole world until the end of the age.
The heart of this gospel is not just that Jesus would die, but that
through Him we may receive eternal life if we believe in Him and do the will of God. Jesus explained this plainly in John 6:40: “
And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.” The true gospel, then, is the call to believe in Christ, to follow Him, and to obey God’s will so that we may have life.
After His resurrection, Jesus commanded His chosen apostles to take this same message to all nations. In Matthew 28:19–20 He said, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, t
eaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you.” Here Jesus made no mention of another gospel that would come later. He made no distinction between Jews and Gentiles. Instead, He commanded His disciples to
teach all nations the very same words He Himself had spoken during His ministry. This confirms that there is only one gospel, and it is the same gospel Jesus preached—the gospel of the kingdom of God.
Jesus also gave a very clear warning in Matthew 7:21: “
Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.” This shows that the gospel is not just about hearing or speaking about Christ, but about doing the will of God. Entrance into the kingdom is tied directly to obedience to the Father’s will, which is the very heart of the gospel Jesus preached. He explained further in Matthew 7:24–27: “
Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.” Here Jesus makes it plain that the true gospel cannot be separated from obedience to His words, for only those who hear and do them are built on the rock that will stand.
To teach that only Paul’s gospel is legitimate is to set Paul above Christ. Yet Jesus Himself said in John 14:6,
“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” No one is saved through another gospel, through another messenger, or through another teaching.
The only way to the Father is through Jesus, His words, and His gospel.
Therefore, the idea that Jesus preached one gospel for the Jews while Paul preached another gospel for the Gentiles is completely false. Jesus made it clear that there is one gospel of the kingdom, for all people, for all times, until the very end. It is the good news that eternal life is found in Him alone, for those who believe and do the will of God. Anyone who preaches another gospel besides this one, the gospel of Christ, is in error, because there is only one foundation, and
that foundation is Jesus Christ, not Paul or anyone else.
