That video shows what is going on, and I hope people see it. Those people are disgusting. This is the real face of racism. If this were done by whites to blacks, the nation would be in ashes. Tennessee State University is a public institution and as such is funded by tax dollars. By allowing an angry mob to physically assault those who simply came to engage in civil discourse, TSU has engaged in viewpoint discrimination which is flat out unconstitutional. The First Amendment does not protect speech for some and not others, based on the whim of a mob. That the police did nothing and TSU has not to date taken steps to discipline or expel those who have violated every canon of civility and law gives one an idea of how far things have slipped. Until TSU is willing to stand up for free speech and against this racist, uncivilized behavior, the taxpayers of this state and nation have a right to question why they are subsidizing a school that runs roughshod over the very rights they have sworn to protect.
