They could be preachers as you have asserted, but I don't see that.
You have to factor in the firstfruits dynamic.

There are 2 harvests.
Church
Jews.

Both harvested under the banner of the gospel of christ.

Thanks for your comments. I was hoping my narrative might have addressed your comments - if I understand them correctly. The Jews were made desolate after they rejected and crucified their Messiah. God would, in essence, turn away from them for the "Time of the Gentiles." This has been a period of some 2000 years - and counting. But at the end of this period, God will reveal to His people (144,000 of them) that He was indeed the 'One they had pierced." This will be a corporate like Damascus experience not unlike Paul in the first century. This, of course will have tremendous effect on the entire world: the Jews will indeed return to their God and just like Paul, preach the Good News as he had done to the Gentile world in the first century. It will be a pure teaching and will make the world aware just how far the church has corrupted His Word and His testimony. The world will be amazed seeing the Jews preaching Jesus and this will bring hundreds of millions (hopefully) to Jesus before His return. But this will also be a nasty, horrible battle between their preaching of the pure / true Word of God and His testimony and those who have been in power for the past 1500 years or so.

But this is God's assignement for His people - not only to return to Him but to bring the world to the truth before judgement. This peiod will last exactly 3.5 years and will complete the 4th and final Great Jubilee period. And then the Messiah will return. This is their final mission or assignment. This will bring in the end times harvest. There is no Jew or Greek or Christian or Muslim or Buddhist - or the possibly 1000 other denominations and practices found throughout the world. The purpose of this preaching of the Good News to the world is to offer the final choice to each individual on the planet (not denomination or institution) to decide who they worship - the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and His Messiah, Jesus or .... anyone or anything other than Him. Again, this end time harvest is at an "individual" level. God is not interested in labels, denominations, churches, synagogues, institutions, etc. There is only one harvest at the individual level and each person must stand on their own choice. Now that you brought it up and since I am attempting to complete a commentary on Revelation, I would like to learn why you believe the 4 cherubim on symbolic of the 4 gospels, This, for me, is not an easy interpretation. The 4 also seem to mirror the 4 sections / groups that surrond the Tabernacle in the wilderness. I am having problems identifying who they are. Are there not 4 cherubin surronding the throne of God but there are only 2 surronding the mercy seat on the Ark. Does the sanctuary mirror the throne room scene in Revelation?
