I don't like Assad, I think he did many things wrong indeed...but leaping to ally with whoever happened to topple him is
NOT a wise idea, from a Christian viewpoint.
The thing is that many Republican/MAGA supporters are also very upset at the US embracing Syria so quickly. Even if this leader Ahmad
is a changed man, that does not necessarily mean ALL his followers/affiliates have the same views/agenda/attitudes towards the West.

and article comments on Breitbart (a popular conservative news site which Steve Bannon was a leader of at one point) regarding Syria/the Syrian leader are still very negative and hostile at the moment, anyone can check for themselves.
