I've heard of secret devil worship cults sacrificing babies, whether true, I cannot say.
I've heard of ancient tribal dissident divisions marauding and taking slaves of women and children of other tribal people. Killing the men in warefare.
I think I've heard of similar behavior even in modern times in news articles. Not child sacrifice, but still difficult to comprehend why such things happen today.
The story of the serpent in the garden is one of ancient, beginnings of the earth. That old serpent deceived Eve and Adam seeking their destruction.
The Christ Jesus was then commanded by his Father to lay down his life and take it up again. Something he was worthy of as the only begotten of God the Father.
That serpent caused and took part in the original child sacrifice of our Lord Christ Jesus that had become necessary to save Adam and Eve and their descendants from the fallen state. The serpent, Eve and Adam became afflicted because of it.
Our God is loving and seeks to the furthest reaches to save us, his creations. We are promised as Christians, thru God for our eventual return. He had always desired our peace and happiness both here on earth and someday in heaven together with his loving family. That is why he has continually given us direction to avoid things like death and hell.
He comes together with The Father, Himself Christ Jesus our Lord, and The Holy Ghost. They are together for us as King of Kings, Lord of Lords. He has the keys of hell and death.

God is alive and we are also. His testament thru witness of the Holy Ghost is an ongoing mission of God's for the salvation of his creations. We can take part in that missions, as new members if his body, as well as serving him in his religious organizations.
