A matter Christ wanted me to discuss with you all is an important matter of the vulnerable less fortunate of society as it relates to news agencies and their reports presented openly.

Vulnerable is anyone that can be exploited against their basic human rights.
Constitutional rights are just that, they are basic human rights together with citizen privileges afforded by our countries, governing, law enforcing, peace keeping and humanitarian agencies and under the protection from criminals foreign and domestic, natural disasters, illness, injuries, disabilities, etc.

News agencies have taken efforts to report mental illnesses of individuals that are suspected of committing crimes, whether proven guilty in a court of law or not.

Normally that would be a gross violation of their right to privacy. News agencies have certain rights to freedom of the press. While citizens also have freedom of speech. Both of those rights are governed by laws prohibitting them from using those freedoms in a way that infringes against basic human rights. Such as the protection of medical privacies, including mental illnesses.
An illness can be a vulnerability a human has. Mental health, disabilities can be a vulnerability.
Childhood and elder age are also vulnerabilities we as Christians do not want exploited, and neither do law enforcement agencies. Parents and others have a responsibility to safeguard their families and most do. Some get unto trouble legally for not protecting youth, elderly, disabled, including the ill and injured.
Laws should be made to enforce that vulnerabilities are not exposed in news reports or made public in other ways. I don't know how many news reporters are aware of such things, as some are new, but news agencies and their managements should be, or made aware to avoid exposing disabilities which might lead to exploitation.
It seems the basic behavior of the sick criminals to exploit vulnerabilities in any way they can. Take for instance playing anyone for "the fool" and hustling goods and things from them with wisdom of evil learned from that old serpent. A common saddistic behavior is exploitating intentionally vulnerabilities they find out about.

Exposing personal information of self or others is also unwise.

I myself have suffered much because of others doing that to me.

"People with severe mental illness are vulnerable to having other people directly take or misappropriate their disability payments. This study investigated the prevalence of different types of financial victimization and the client characteristics associated with being financially victimized."

"The HIPAA Rules are designed to protect the privacy of all of an individuals’ identifiable health information and to ensure that health information is available when needed for treatment and other appropriate purposes. Given the sensitive nature of mental health and substance use disorder treatment information, OCR is providing this guidance addressing HIPAA protections, the obligations of covered health care providers, and the circumstances in which covered providers can share information—as applied to this context."

If they have an open history of mental illness, or have been reported as such by officials, or are mounting an insanity or diminished capacity defense. They have shed their right for privacy in this.

We also must remember that as believers most mental illness , apart from a physiological cause, is the result of sin in a persons life. I am not talking about things like the deep grieving process fo losing a loved one or things as such, but what is considered ong term mental illness. When all is said and done, most mental and emotional problems are simply a result of lack of trust in god or living in unconfessed sin. I want to let people know that I am a board certified Christian counselor so I have studied. I also believe that compassion and gentleness is the best way to treat people.

As far as officials reporting a mentally ill individual, I must say that the most dangerous individuals are not mentally ill, but rather emotionally unstable when they don't have compassion while harming someone long enough and damaging enough that they eventually die, which comes in various lengths of time, as witnessed in crime investigations, reported and documentaries.

Someone that is completely sane, and in a moments notice, decides to kill someone, cold hearted, collected and without warning effectively assassinates (kills) someone.

Hello @Ronald Nolette

You have an interesting personality and belief system I am not familiar with as a Christian experiencing different denominations. The belief that mental illness is caused by sin is interesting and losely related to scripture. I think I remember a verse about taking the sacrement unworthily and causing illness, but not limited to mental anguish and guilt of judging ones self worthy. Physically ill as well. God actually decides that issue of his body and blood for the bread and wine and who he says is worthy to receive him. He blesses them spiritually often, for those in need of healing and comfort as a good Father does.

Mental illness comes in several forms, physically damaged, developmental, situational, lack of understanding of wisdom and knowledge from our creator and savior, etc.

God is truth. As we are taught the truth from God and learn in intelligence, wisdom and knowledge from God, the darkness of our minds is filled instead with the knowledge and wisdom from God's gifts of his holy spirit. Mental illness can be from lack of knowledge and wisdom. Jesus taught in parables to the wicked which were criminally insane. Give them the truth regarding their future? No he did not.

We all come from a fallen state of wickedness. As Jesus heals us and clenses us from our fallen state we become less wicked. He then can speak more plainly and less parables. We must be teachable, humble before God and his witnesses. As little children before Christ.

---

Matthew 18

1 At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?

2 And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,

3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

5 And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.

6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

7 Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!

---

And mental illness is common in false belief systems, whether taught to Christians as deceptions in their denominations. Or pagans, like voodoo, witchcraft and other Satanic belief areas.

Physically damaged, chemically altered brains do not function well and considered temporarily or permanently ill (disabled) which are found in the mentally ill, from drug use, automotive accidents, malnutrition, heat injuries like heat stroke, situational traumatizing events, like accident scenes of physical, emotional and mental disasters.

Satan is the deceptive muderer, coveting God's kingdom, power and glory, even his creations to control and enslave them, including with drugs and those that poison others, which includes poisoning with deceptions of false doctrines of beliefs.

Thank You for your time,

Devin, aka @Raccoon1010

I'm concerned of the affect your statements might have on the more vulnerable and impressionable readers. Including those that are ill in any way.

The two sections of statements are as follows:

I have heard it said on this and other forums 'mentally ill are possesed demonically', also along the lines of 'your mental illness is caused from unrepented and/or unconfessed sin'.

Do you believe those type of accusations against a persons soul are harmful or healing? Do you make generalized judgements against people as those listed?

Also what school did you attend? That I might research what they teach and where they learned to enforce such teachings?

My advice to you @Ronald Nolette is to be careful not to mock the afflicted, as even Paul was afflicted by Satanic forces and given grace from our Lord thru such afflictions that he might continue. Yet Paul still served during those afflictions and did well. Even as Satan and his demonic forces, the enemies against God and his people, attempted to torment Paul and others and shut the heavens of witness from Paul or distort his witnessed messages thru afflictions. Eventual killing of Christ and his disciples did happen. Which was the authorities of the time denouncing them, mocking and shaming them openly, even putting them to death in different ways.

In love for Christians and Christianity, I pray we are not found helping the enemies of God and his people by openly proclaiming 'that the afflicted brought their afflictions onto themselves'. As many sinners go about quite well in these latter days making money, successful at many things and rich, and ruling much. Take a look around at the wickedness being presented and taught by leaders and the wealthy. Such are the stories of law enforcement and wars.

If you desire to learn those areas please read the following scriptures. If you have scriptures supporting your beliefs please present them here.

Thank You,

Devin, aka @Raccoon1010

Matthew 5

45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

2 Corinthians 1:

3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;

4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

5 For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.

6 And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation.

7 And our hope of you is stedfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation.

8 For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life:

James 5:

1 Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you.

2 Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten.

3 Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.

4 Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth.

5 Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter.

6 Ye have condemned and killed the just; and he doth not resist you.

7 Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.

8 Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.

9 Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.

10 Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.

11 Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.

12 But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation.

13 Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.

14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:

15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.

18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.

19 Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him;

20 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.

Doctors and Insurances companies have already coordinated patients' medical records. So, even if you change doctors, they still have your records. Even Medicare keeps all your records. Its easy to pull mental health records and prescriptions anyone has taken recently. I don't go to a doctor anymore and that's one of the reasons.

I agree, and am careful who and when and why I get care. I have to be careful as health care, whether physical or mental, has a lot of income for wealthy. Which means it can be exploited, and not just for money.

Doctors and staff also have to be careful of treachery just like everyone else so sometimes things get in the way. Liability and legal problems can arise, and sometimes its no one's fault, and people still face punishment. I call it the witch hunt.

Not everyone knows when to act and when to forgive and let it go, and move on and forward in life. Some people hold on to a grievance even long after it is useless to hold. Controlling, judgemental, arrogant, untrusting people do exist and loss too great for them to face in their past could be the cause. An ego they develop to over compensate for hurt that would alter their ego unfavorably.

We Christians believe in miraculous healing, when it actually happens. And sometimes God rains on the just and unjust. But he has healed many of us Christians in various ways as we have testified of. And yet some will deny those miracles openly as I have seen.

As far as "shed their right to privacy", I have seen articles where news reporters have been given private information from family, friends and neighbors as to the individuals in the news reports vulnerabilities mentally. An ethics and morality debate? Not really.

The sad reality is that once someone mental or emotional state finds its way public, it is fair game according to the US laws. One can argue its rightness or wrongness but it is legal.

These are the valid reasons for mental or emotional disease apart from sin.

When I say sin, I mean having any belief, philosophy or opinion that is in contradiction to Scripture.

I suffered from very low self esteem for decades, I was finally freed when I realized, my own sense of self worth was against how god views me. That is making my opinion above gods and is a form of idolatry. This is the basic truth. However in treating people, we must be sensitive and know them as best we can in order to tailor their plan to move them to the REAL truth at a sustainable pace.

When people are very vulnerable or ailing, one must apply truth very gently and carefully. You just don't tell them they are in sin.

The more we hide Gods Word in our heart, the mmore we can live peaceful, joyful and contented lives. I am living proof of that!

Over the decades I have taught my students this truth:

Right living comes from right thinking.
Right thinking comes from right knowledge.
Right knowledge comes from the Word of God.

I was a mess when I cam to Christ. It took years of being loved and patiently taught by mature believers. With many we must take that approach.

Some people who are "mentally ill" are demon possessed! Demon possession occurs in the mind and soul and contrls the person. It is not common and it is very hard to be "possessed". It takes great and willful effort to be possessed.

As a witness of God in these last days I would like to remind everyone of the truth behind mental illness, together with emotional and physical illness, they can be hereditary, as passed down thru family lines as genetic disorders treatable with modern medicines and therapies if given from our Lord, the good physician.

Mental illness comes in different forms, it can be physical, chemical, electromagnetic and genetic defects, damage, temporary or permanent. God heals all those either in our lifetime or the life to come. Be patient, kind, loving God and mankind as our Father in Heaven, having faith with offerings to our Lord of works meet for repentance. All of those forms of mental illness can be induced by external forces and compounds, agents. Be wise as a serpent and harmless as doves. Do as the disciples of Christ, as recorded in scripture, especially when near the enemies of Christ and his family.

Another form of mental illness results from the emotional, physical, genetic, chemical, electromagnetic sources. That means the brain is otherwise healthy, but is affected adversely by other stimuli that impedes its normal function. Proper medical, therapy can remove the problematic stimuli or alleviate some of the stimuli. Helping to alleviate the symptoms of mental disorders.

Other forms of illness resemble what Christ went thru on the cross. Physically, emotionally, mentally abused, mocked in front of his family, friends and followers, those he loved and many he brought healing and salvation to.

Abuse can damage a persons soul causing that mote and beam problem. Self abuse thru committing sin can cause one while abusing others can cause the other. Think mote and beam for the castle and internal cities safety. The mote keeps people out and safeguards the city while the beam can be let down or taken up to allow passage of visitors.

We are the temple of God. Christ gave witness regarding warnings of destroying his temple, and fought to guard his Fathers temple in those times. We are God's children created in his image and should honor God and each other in diginified ways. (see the Book of Jude and others).

Christ gained victory over his adversaries including hell and death and together with his Father and the Holy Ghost have the keys of hell and death.

John 3

14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Special note:

I would never mock another human being or ever degrade them either openly or in private and pretend to know if they are demon possessed. I know they aimed accusations like that at Christ and his followers.

The act of demonizing another human being by attempting to assess that, if not directly assessed by God himself, is wrong and sinful.

The act of directing demons and the demonic at people by directing that external or internal label at another human soul or child of God is also the work of the adversary.

In scripture has that been done, and by whom?

I am also hoping, as others sometimes do, that we aren't engaged in feeling better about ourselves thru degrading others.

If God has given us true judgement on the possessed then are we fasting and praying as the disciples were directed? To bring God to cast out the possesed thru the power of God? If gifted?

Message to all:

Hate speech and forms of that, like making accusations against others, including passing unrighteous judgments like demonizing others, when not true, is an illness. It is addictive and the adversary gives his payment thru that process for temporary relief of an abusive pain of the accuser.

15 Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatick, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water.

16 And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him.

17 Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me.

18 And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.

19 Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?

20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

21 Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.

A warning regarding works of the occult:

Do not point to a destruction of lucifer's doing, including where he might possess or destroy. As lucifer has in times passed, or rather Beelzibub, possessed souls to command, enslave and destroy them. God might allow a person to attempt to direct the evil one's target to the destruction of that director, an example of what not to do. Hopefully not.

God has witnesses for destructions, as in only if they are also commanded to repent and be spared destruction. God oversees His Kingdoms wisely and with love.

@Ronald Nolette I would like to offer a prayer for you and your students, also I did not catch the school you attended for counseling.

This scripture references both prayer and fasting and is the manner in which we are to do those, I pray God directs you and guides you all to our lord Jesus the Christ and his love for us, and together he will lead us to his Father in Heaven and our loving happy heavenly home once again. To return honorably as best we are able and have been given of God.

Matthew 6:

5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

11 Give us this day our daily bread.

12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

16 Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

17 But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face;

18 That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.

All you did here is show that many forms of mental and emotional illness have a physiological cause. These are not due to sin, but physical events that altered the normal functioning of the brain. We have the resources for many of these people to overcome the pohysical barriers and to live near normal lives.

But living in habitual sins (including drugs and alcohol) lead to a breakdown in the mental and emotional centers and lead to illnesses here. Wecan treat the symptoms but if the sin habit is not turned from, it is only time that the person , to quote Scripture,"The dog retyurns to its vomit."

We also know that living in emotional distress can bring physical illnesses. Living in stress (which is a sin due to lack of trust in god) leads to high blood pressure, cardiac issues, ulcers and bowel problems.

We must do what we can to lovingly lift these people to see the SOLUTION, who is Jesus and trust in Him.

As for demon possession, though very rare these days (though picking up) we must not pooh-pooh it for fear of offending. Love at times must be very offensive if we are to save many who are deep in dark issues.

I am not afraid to call a dope addict a junkie if it will snap him to seek the real help they need.
