Racism is a plague in humanity, and the cure is love and humility. God created all men equally, and every soul that He made is a valuable treasure that He sent His Son to rescue.

I have heard some horribly racist words proceed from the mouths of some podcasters, one of which is: “All black people should be put in jail.” What makes this disgusting statement even worse is that this atrocity proceeded from the mouth of a professed Christian.

I have some questions I would ask of these ones who have deemed that the color of their skin makes them a more favored species than their darker counterparts.

1. Do you think that God make a mistake when He created people of a different color than yourself?

2. God made Adam out of dirt. Then what color skin do you think Adam was when the pigment of his formation was brown?

3. Why did white people have the need to invent tanning salons so they could change the color of their skin to several shades darker?

As a white person, I am not preoccupied with what color my skin is, that is irrelevant to me. I do not identify with being white, I identify as a follower of Jesus Christ. I am more concerned with what color my soul is - who I am as a person.

Everyone must stand before the Lord at the judgment seat of Christ, and Jesus has said that we will be judged by every idle word that proceeds out of our mouths (Matthew 12:36). In view of these facts, I think it would behoove those who are harboring the sin of racism in their hearts, to begin to focus on the conditions of their own souls and repent.

If we cannot accept someone of another race or color as an equal, then we are harboring a spirit of unforgiveness toward God for making them in the first place. And we are shown by scripture that unforgiveness can cost a believer their salvation (Matthew 6:14,15).

Let us be more concerned about the color of our hearts, and change the darkness of our souls into light through the humility of repentance. We must judge ourselves now before we appear before the One who has through His sacrifice enabled our souls to be all the same color of His righteousness.

I don't know why a Christian would be racist.
They shouldn't be but some are. These are carnal Christians with religious spirits that have not as yet learned that God wants to change them into the people He wants them to be; conformed into Jesus' image.

I've heard people say the truth is racist, when speaking of real world statistics. So I think one can go to the opposite extreme in an effort to avoid appearing racist.

1. No, God doesn't make mistakes. Melanin in the skin helps resist skin cancer. Which helps a lot in warmer climates where skin is more exposed.

2. I would assume skintones to be darker at the beginning of human history, and mutations resulted in lighter skin tones.

3. I assume white people get tans to look healthier and more attractive to the opposite sex. A pale complection makes people appear sickly and unattractive.

God made Adam out of dirt. Then what color skin do you think Adam was when the pigment of his formation was brown?

The colour of "soil" covers ever variation of colour found in the white light's rainbow and also includes the colour black.

Dark coloured skin also can get sunburn, but their issue is that because of their dark skin colour they cannot see that they are sun burnt because the sun burn does not show.

You do have a thread on your skin color, however.

How about this....
How about we stop talking about racism and just treat everybody as if they were nice persons.....
until they aren't anymore.

No matter the skin color.

Do you realize that the more you TALK ABOUT IT....the worse it is?
Do we talk about being sick all day long?
No.

Maybe we should have the same attitude about others.
And stop talking about skin color all the time....

You speak as though most persons are racist.
Most are not.

What's a carnal Christian??
Is this akin to being a TRUE BELIEVER?

One is either Christian or they are not.
One is either a believer or they are not.

A carnal Christian most probably is not Christian.

Oh they sure have went to extremes all right .
now even saying homosexuality is sin is seen as being a racists .
This liberal progressive movement is a deadly dangerous one .

No true. Christians can have a lot of carnal baggage when they begin their walk with the Lord and it can come off as they grow in grace. It's the ones that don't respond to the Holy Spirit that end up being on the goat side.

A carnal Christian is a contradiction in terms.

Carnal means flesh.
It means the person is living by the flesh instead of by the spirit.

Paul warns against this in Romans.

Romans 8:5-9
5 For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
6 For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace,
7 because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so,
8 and those who are in the flesh cannot * please God.

Paul goes on to say that believers are not in the flesh but in the Spirit,,,IF INDEED, the Spirit of God dwells in them....
and that if they do not have the Spirit of Christ, the person does not belong to Him.

9 However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.

I suppose it would depend on how long it takes for a person to get rid of their "baggage".

A Christian is someone who has believed the gospel and received Jesus as their Savior. It takes time for some to actually begin walking in the Spirit as their carnal baggage is being shed as they grow. This does not mean they are not Christians. This is why we are told not to judge. The carnal Christian who is not walking in the spirit today and serving the Lord, could be serving on a mission field years later.

There is no such thing as a perfect Christian. We all have some carnal baggage we have to get rid of as we grow. We have to remember that God is not only looking at our outward behavior, He is also seeing every thought and motive that comes into our minds and hearts. There are those who look spiritual on the outside, but they are a carnal mess on the inside. It does not mean that we are not believers. You are right sometimes it takes a while for the transformation process to reform us from the inside out. Those who never change were probably never saved through a genuine repentance in the first place. They would be the goats in Jesus illustration of what happens at the judgment seat of Christ.

Hi Biblica
I must say that I do see some problems with your statements.

I'll address two that I read above...
you could reply or not - I have no desire for an argument but only discussion.

I agree with you that some become transformed overnight and for some it takes some time.
I just don't believe the expression CARNAL CHRISTIAN is a correct understanding of this fact.

Paul wrote to his BRETHREN in the following:

1 Corinthians 3:1-3
1 And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual men, but as to men of flesh, as to infants in Christ.
2 I gave you milk to drink, not solid food; for you were not yet able to receive it. Indeed, even now you are not yet able,
3 for you are still fleshly. For since there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not fleshly, and are you not walking like mere men?

Paul is reprimanding the brethren.

Verse 1 He could not speak to them as to SPIRITUAL men...
but as men OF FLESH.
Paul always refers to the flesh as being against God.

Verse 2 These brethren are still not able to receive solid food.

Verse 3 Why? Because they are still fleshly....and thus they are walking like mere men instead of spiritual men.

Galatians 5:17
17For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do.

John speaks about sinning, but not living in sin...1 John 3:9

Maybe the correct way to say this would be to say that a Christian still sins...
but he cannot live in sin?

As to judging...not to make this post too long...
if you read, for instance, Matthew 18, you'll find that we MUST judge.

Matthew 18:15-17
15 "If your brother sins, go and show him his fault in private; if he listens to you, you have won your brother.
16 "But if he does not listen to you, take one or two more with you, so that BY THE MOUTH OF TWO OR THREE WITNESSES EVERY FACT MAY BE CONFIRMED.
17 "If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.

If we can know if someone is sinning...
are we not judging them?

There is a difference between judging someone, and just evaluating someone's' spiritual condition based on observations of their behavior that needs correcting. The judging that the Bible forbids is a personal evaluation based on our conceptions of who the person is. We can't see the inner motives of someone and we are told not to take the place of God in condemning someone for perceived failures. This type of judging is motivated from a sense of pride or superiority over the person being judged.

You are right, they should not matter, but unfortunately to racists they do. These are obviously people who are unaware of the sins in their own hearts.

Education is part of the problem also when I was very young I had the privilege if having parents that thought us that colour of the skin is of no import and would not tolerate any racial slur from us as sometimes we were influences by friends or worse television... I learned this at a very young age, unfortunately today this is still a problem but in the coming Kingdom of Heaven it will vanish.. everyone will know we are all children of God, Finally.

I see you are a new member, welcome , welcome, looking forward to chat some more.
Blessings.

OK...this goes back to what I was saying in a previous post.
We are all carnal when we come to God.

The point that both Jesus and John make is that we cannot remain that way.
This is why Paul is warning the Corinthians....telling them that they cannot REMAIN babes in Christ.

Jesus said that not those that cry LORD, LORD will see heaven but those that do the will of the Father.

Matthew 7:21
21 "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.

My point about John is this:

1 John 3:9
9 No * one who is born of God practices
sin,

In 1 John chapter 1 he states that we all sin and must confess our sins.
In 1 John chapter 3 he states that we cannot CONTINUE in sin.

What I'm saying is that there's no such animal as a carnal Christian....

There IS Christians that still sin...as we all do....
but no Christian can LIVE IN SIN....which is what a carnal Christian would be.

I'm objecting to this designation....NOT your overall theology.

I'm going to start a thread on this.
I'll tag you in.

I agree.
Jesus said we will be judged as we judge....He meant in a self-righteous way.
We are told that if we bring a brother BACK INTO THE FOLD, we have saved his soul.

James 5:19-20
19 My brethren, if any among you strays from the truth and one turns him back,
20 let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.
