I am not going to deny that there are some good arguments proposed by flat earthers, also here in this thread. But nevertheless, I have a really hard time believing that basically all the governments of the world are into it, since that necessarily follows if the flat earth theory is true. That would have to mean that the Space Agencies (which are interlinked with the governments, of course) of all the countries in the world are infiltrated by conspirators, working together to produce and bring about this great scheme.
How is this possible? Do we really have grounds for believing so? Well, I don’t see it, personally. That seems to be too big of a thing.
It would certainly be a great scheme, an outstanding systematic plan. But great schemes do happen, or are at least already believed to happen in a major scale. Have you ever gone outside at night to look up at the moon, and considered just how wild it would have been for us to
get on it?
If we got on the moon, it was a
great scheme. If we didn't get on it, it was a
great scheme to have so many people believe it. Yes, only one of those might be a conspiracy, but conspiracies exist.
As for
all countries being in on it, I'm not so sure. For all I know, smaller countries with less power may be declaring flat earth, or at least not declaring globe earth, and their messages are just hidden from us. I wouldn't know. Our major internet search engines already have the ability to shadowban topics, and they seem to at times. But then there is the angle of money and power. If a government holds the key to space, and space is vast and explorable, then the government holds power. What was it I quoted earlier? 25 billion USD was NASA's budget the previous year? It could be some governments are coerced, silenced, incentivized, etc. to allow the globe model to be pushed. It is not necessarily true you would know what's actually going on with every country.
It is even said that another country had warships outside of the United States ready to launch an attack if Hilary Clinton won the election. Did I hear about that from mainstream media in the States? Nope, but it was evidently on the newspapers in other countries. And I imagine most Americans don't know about that, either. Point is, if our government wants us to think something, or doesn't want us to know something, they might be a bit more influential in our knowledge and lack thereof than we think.
Why are space agencies interlinked with governments? Also, have governments proven to be untrustworthy?
Shalomhalom, at what point does "unlikely" become "impossible"? And if it's not impossible, then do you respect the logical possibility of it?
