I never gave much thought to the ideal First Lady before watching Melania. Rest assured, Melania Trump has. While our culture has embraced THE PERVERSION OF EQUALITY, greatness is exceedingly rare and is never an accident or due to luck but intentional focus and will at an unusually high quality and sustained exertion, differentiated by overcoming all obstacles. Greatness does not embrace victim mentality.

Melania is the most financially successful non-concert documentary in over a decade. As one watches the film, one cannot help but think of two things: the woman and the production of the film. She had the presence of mind to have her life filmed over 20 days leading to her husband’s second inauguration. This should tell you something about her character, her foresight. In the film, she talked a number of times about her vision, of wanting to transform the First Lady’s role to be more than about organizing State dinners and fashion.

The film begins and ends with the same point. She lives with purpose and devotion – to family, philanthropy and country. The last words of the movie add rather chicly, “and style.” Oh my! Your senses are treated to vistas of city skylines, compelling music and a soft, golden luxury one might imagine what heaven is like. Yet the titular character is not sitting in the lap of luxury but dynamic, driven and inspiring.

Melania was literally a supermodel, and her mastery of fashion was showcased. Her attention to detail world class. One example. In making the outfit she’d wear to the inauguration, she pointed out how her shirt collar needed to be higher in the back. Once you see it, you cannot unsee it. The collar was higher on the sides than the back and did not have symmetry. The expert designers didn't see that.

While I don’t put much emphasis on fashion, we must admit the First Lady of the United States, whoever it may be, gets more fashion scrutiny than just about anyone one Earth. Melania is uniquely qualified to excel in this capacity. Not just in what she wears but coordinating all the details in the various State dinners. My wife concluded Melania Trump is the classiest First Lady America has ever had.

Her husband was not in the film in the first half of the movie, indicating how dynamic the couple is; each jet setting to different places to accomplish different things. The film is recorded during the 20 days but narrated by Melania. Some of the later scenes, she includes filming taken by her father as well as the professional videography, a very endearing and personal touch. She says she frequently goes to New York, Washington and Mara Lago, with Mara Lago being her sanctuary; a place her son took swimming lessons from her father, golf lessons from her husband and tennis lessons from her.

In one of the first scenes with her husband, they are sitting at a table with the Director and Assistant Director of the Secret Service discussing the security arrangements for his route to the inauguration. She expresses genuine concern of the tradition of the President-elect to stop in his motorcade and greet the people. “What happened last year” is referenced. Anyone ever think about how this wife and mother might have felt upon seeing her husband nearly get assassinated in front of the whole world?

The Director of the Secret Service goes over the logistics of his first day with 4 obligatory balls, culminating with getting back to the White House at 1 AM. Trump eagerly says he’ll “start working then to turn this country around.” He’s so inspiring. His legendary stamina on display. So great! The Director, humbled to be in the presence of greatness, quietly says, “we’re grateful, sir.”

BROKEN 3 TIMES

I got something in my eye 3 times that is noteworthy. The first time is when she met with an Israeli woman who had been held hostage by Hamas for 52 days before being released. The woman said she was a simple woman from a simple town and was there to appeal to Melania to help get her husband released. The woman, feeling guilty that she was released but not her husband, recalled one incident in captivity where they put them in a deep hole with no food or water with rifles pointed at them, fearing for her life, she was too scared to look at her husband not wanting to see him get killed. Melania replied in a very empathic way that he was scared to look at you get killed. The woman broke down. Melania was moved off her chair to comfort and hug the grieving wife.

Immediately after this scene, Melania went to St. Patricks’ Cathedral in New York to light a candle for her mother. The day of Carter’s funeral was the 1-year anniversary of her mother’s death. St. Patricks’ Cathedral is a special place for me and my wife. Our tour bus parked there many times on our one visit to “the Big Apple.” The security was apparent and the cardinal warmly met her at the front door. She was allowed some solitude, looked up to the heavens and it seemed like the only time in the film she stood still, sighed acknowledging the weight of all she carries, including constantly coordinating her plans with the White House plans with her husband’s plans and her family’s plans.

To get a sense of Melania morals, she said her mother, a fashion designer loved by all, taught her that beauty comes from busy hands. Other words she spoke about her mother’s influence was endearing, to say the least.

The final scene that I got something in my eyes was the morning of the inauguration. I don’t know if this is traditional or not but there was a ceremony at the tomb of the unknown soldier. As Melania was walking to the tomb, she narrated those military personnel lost whose memory she carries. Accompanying her where members of each branch of the military. One man was walking on crutches with a prosthetic right arm and no leg as the narrator said these men sacrificed for something larger than themselves, love of country.

Music accompanied the most lighthearted parts of the film. In the car she sang karaoke, “Billie Jean” by Michael Jackson with a Secret Service agent. And wearing her signature crisscross dress, she danced a bit to “YMCA” by The Village People.

POLITICS

Both her 2 philanthropic causes are child centered: her “Be Best” initiative and focus on helping foster kids around the world.

She notes only 3% of foster kids go to college. And she worked with the First Lady of France and Jordan on continuing her “Be Best” initiative. She is pained to learn that the average kid today spends 8 hours per day looking at a device and with social media are overwhelmed with anxiety, not living confidently and happily. I predict this will be seen in future generations as child abuse, with lasting negative consequences for a whole generation. And our First Lady did what she could to bring awareness and help!

She expresses how grateful and humble she is to serve our country she loves so much. Trump begins his second inaugural address with “Today begins the golden age of America.” Indeed, Melania.

Melania always impressed me as being very gracious and elegant...she represents our country well.
Well...she posted naked in magazines,
so that should go over well with you kind of Christian people.
That makes her an all time favorite.

No. What makes her an all time favorite is her overall excellence as First Lady.

I never heard that she posed nude. Why do you bring it up? Do you agree with @Debp that she represents our country well? And what is your review of the movie?

I never heard that she posed nude.
In Women's Wear Daily:
A nude photo shoot for British GQ’s March 2000 issue, curled up on a rug aboard Trump's Boeing 727, wearing only jewelry and handcuffed to a leather briefcase. Trump said in her 45-second video post on “X,” “Why do I stand proudly behind my nude modeling work? The more pressing question is: Why has the media chosen to scrutinize my celebration of the human form in a fashion shoot?”

That happened 26 years ago. What have you done in your past that you wouldn't do now because you have grown spiritually?

When I was 22, a brand new born again Christian, I wore bikinis while visiting the beach in Hawaii. After I grew spiritually I didn't wear them anymore.

Wrangler, you said "I never heard that she posed nude.".
I gave you the answer to that question.

You prefer to ignore the answer.....and come back with some dumb unrelated remark.
Not unusual for a Trump supporter, ignore and ignore some more.

Have a nice day supporting the racist liar.

In the mean time his support across the US (and the world) is dropping more every day.
And not only by the opposition but also among the republicans.
And it will keep dropping till it sits at 0%.

Nope I saw polls last week and President Trump is rising a lot in the polls.

The British love President Trump. They often say they wish he was their Prime Minister since they have so many mass immigration problems with illegals.

Btw, are you always so pleasant in your speech amongst your family, friends and strangers? Or is your pleasantness only graced upon us?

Her moral superiority is something to behold, as well. While the human form has been portrayed since antiquity, when Melania does it, it is used to claim moral superiority WHILE supporting murdering babies!

Of course mainstream media always slants towards defaming President Trump.

I see plenty of comments and also fellowship with some British that love President Trump.

That poll was issued by the White House press secretary under orders by Trump.
Btw, are you a United Pentecostal?
No I'm not a United Pentecostal. Do you have an obsession with them?

Melania is a Talented, Classy, Graceful, Beauty and very impressive wife, mother and First Lady.

If her beauty bugs you, look away.
If her character bugs you, look away.
If Donald being madly in Love with her bugs you…
Go enjoy “One” (still living) other former First Lady’s talent, beauty, class and grace…

Maybe Graceful Laura will invite you to tea.
Maybe Talented Hilly will teach you how to create fake dossiers.
Maybe Classy Mike will teach you how to podcast to bash your spouse.
Maybe Talented “Dr Jilly” will teach you how to medicate your mind impaired spouse.

Or Just Maybe…(unlike Hilly), you might recognize we elect Presidents not their spouse.
