A professor at the University of Cambridge use to teach a course called “To understand Christianity, you must understand Judaism.”

I know I have blown people’s minds when I tell them that the Trinity is made up of three Gods, not one God. There is one Godhead with three full-fledged Gods that sit on three thrones in Heaven with Yeshua the Son of Yahweh sitting on the right of His Father. Well, here we go again.

It is true, to understand Christianity you must understand Judaism. This is or was a two week course, but I will try to shorten it….a lot.

First things first, we will start off with some Old Testament facts and some facts about Jewish beliefs.

The Jews do not believe in Hell or the Devil or that their reward is Heaven, because the Old Testament scriptures do not speak of such things. If you read words like Hell or Hades or the Devil in the Old Testament in your Bible, it is time to get a better Bible….That is for sure and certain.

The Jews believe a person’s rewards and punishments occur during their lifetime. Judaism is not very spiritual that is why scholars refer to Judaism as a “this world religion.” There are three circumstances that people may have been taken to Heaven, Enoch, Abraham, and Elijah.

In Judaism Elijah is senior to the Messiah, but both considered important prophets. Elijah was taken to Heaven in a chariot of fire. 2nd Kings 2:11

The Jews believe that Elijah would return in a chariot fire to introduce the Messiah to the Jews. The Jews would never believe that the Messiah would arrive in secret and the Old Testament does not define the Messiah as a God. They believed the Messiah would be human and a grown man when Elijah introduces him to the Jewish people. In fact the Jews during their revolts would consider some of the military leaders as possible Messiahs that Elijah would introduce.

The Jews believed and scriptures supported the belief that the Messiah would be a warlord king that would take out the Jewish oppressors with Yahweh’s help in what is referred to as “the great and terrible day of the Lord.” In the messianic age this Messiah would establish his kingdom that would last forever and put the world under his rule. The Mosaic Law would be the Law of the world and the Temple would be re-built of Gold and sacrifices would continue forever. The Temple described in Ezekiel chapters 40 thru 48. There is nothing in the Old Testament to suggest that the Messiah would be killed and return thousands of years later.

At no time do the Old Testament scriptures say that the Jews would be responsible for the Messiah’s death. They did not believe they would wait 700 years to kill their Messiah. Killing the Son of Yahweh! Max wrath, they would have ran for hills and would have had nothing to do with Judaism.

Now as we know, this did not happen, the terrible day of the Lord or the advent of Elijah return in a fiery chariot. Because they were still looking for him in New Testament. This was one of the reasons that the Jews did not believe Yeshua was the Messiah because Elijah did not introduce him. Some thought that it was John the Baptist or Yeshua. And as the scriptures say John the Baptist was not Elijah. John was more of a predecessor to Yeshua. So why didn’t it happen, what changed?

Why did the Messiah need to be a God?

Why was Hell created or when was it created?

Why did Mankind need to be saved?

In the Old Testament all souls went to Sheol….which had levels, good and bad? Which brings up other questions. In the New Testament the dead are said to be asleep and in the end will resurrect….does that mean the souls are in the grave? Not defined.

The upper level of Shoel was paradise and this is where Yeshua and the thief on the cross went when they passed. Yeshua went to Sheol to preach the Gospel there. No scripture suggests that Yeshua went to Heaven after He passed on the cross. In fact Yeshua told Mary the Magdaline….Stop clinging to Me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father;….John 20:17

In the Old Testament the word salvation meant to save lives, in the New Testament Salvation was/is the saving of souls from Hell and the reward was Heaven.

No Salvation in the Old Testament because Yahweh had zero tolerance for sin. Which meant one sin and Salvation was not possible. No forgiveness just avoidance of the wrath of Yahweh through atonement by sacrifice. The same is true of the New Testament/New Covenant, Yahweh was not changed by the New Covenant. So how does forgiveness and Salvation work in the New Testament? One of the effects of Grace is that it provides a cloak of perfection for us. Yahweh does not see our sins. Yeshua’s perfect sacrifice removed us from the type of sin caused by breaking the Law. Our sins are covered by the blood of Yeshua provided by the love of the Sacred Heart of the Son of God. Our sins are between us and Yeshua and if we own up to our sins and ask forgiveness his love forgives our transgressions as long as we do not use Grace for a license to sin. Which means do not expect to get forgiveness for the same sin over and over again. You cannot play Christ for a fool.

So what changed that caused all this to happen? It is not written in the scriptures and apparently the Apostles did not know. So all we know is that something changed and it apparently happened between the Testaments. So do we just leave it at that? Or can we speculate. Speculation is good as long as it is just that and do not try to say it is fact. So here is the speculation…..

In the Old Testament Satan and the “sons of God were Cherubs and functioned as Watchers.” Watchers were overseers of righteousness and were of high rank. When Satan and the sons of God entered the Holy Court of Yahweh, He asked Satan what He had been doing and Satan answered that he had been roaming about the earth, going back and forth. Then Yahweh asked, From where do you come?” Then Satan answered the Lord and said, “From roaming about on the earth and walking around on it. And then Yahweh and Satan get into a discussion about Job’s righteousness. Now apparently Cherubs are capable of impregnating women?

We do not exactly know what caused Satan and the other angels to rise up against Yahweh but odds are it was about us….jealousy of us? I will speculate on this shortly.

We know that Satan lead a rebellion and the Archangel Micheal and his army cast a third of the Angels out of Heaven. But where did they go? To the lower levels of Sheol? Like I said, this is speculation.

From there Satan planned the take over of the physical world. By the time of Yeshua…Christ meaning Messiah, Satan had a strong hold on the world. So much so that Jerusalem and the surrounding area was surrounded by evil. If this area would have fallen to Satan, he would influence Mankind to be evil and take all the souls of Mankind to the lower levels of Sheol which was a horrible place of darkness and misery. And then take over the world as a god of this world.

So what would Yahweh do to win this battle between good and evil and save Mankind. Apparently the Essenes knew something about this….the battle between the forces of light and the forces of darkness. First off Mankind would have to choose between good and evil, but as it was they really did not have that choice because evil dominated everything. Yahweh would give them that chance to choose…..

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the [f]only begotten Son of God. This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God.” John 3:16-21

But to do this the Messiah had to be a God and have the power of a full-fledged God. So Yahweh would have a Son….the son of Man and the Son of God. Yeshua would give Mankind an opportunity for Salvation. He would break down the wall between Yahweh and Mankind and reconcile Mankind to Yahweh. This was what happened when the veil in the temple tore in two when Yeshua passed on the cross. Yeshua would open the gates to Heaven to mankind.

In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also. And you know the way where I am going.” Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. John 14:2-6

Now Heaven is for God and the angels and other divine beings? The Trinity made us eligible for Heaven by adopting us as His children. There are about ten biblical versus that describe us as the children of God. Was this the plan all along and is this what made Satan and the other angels jealous? Because as children of God, we are senior to angels?

So here we pick up in the Gospels. But is this speculation a Gospel? No, it is speculation but it ties things together. Take it for what is worth. But this speculation is not complete because it does not explain who the Holy Spirit is. This information was obviously meant to be a secret because the name of the Holy Spirit was never revealed, probably because it would be too shocking. But I believed the Magi knew….the Order of Melchizedek, an Order that Yeshua belonged to, as told in the Book of Hebrews. Because the Magi knew the Holy Spirit they knew the importance of the birth of Yeshua and knew the signs. The items the Magi gave Yeshua were not token gifts, the scriptures say they were a treasure, a treasure….to finance His ministry? And some of the female followers of Yeshua were probably Magi and they financed His ministry. Messiah more or less means anointed one and only female Magi anointed Him and had the courage to be at the cross with Yeshua while the Apostles were hiding. Except John?

So many things can be named "Judaism" that the term has become quite ambiguous.

To understand Christianity, we need to understand the Gospel and the apostolic teachings, primarily.

In some cases, it may be useful to know some Old Testament Scriptures or some ancient Jewish schools of thought, but it is rather for defending some already known Christian teaching or for historical curiosity, for better understanding of some disputations between Jesus and Jews and similar use cases. A Christian layman does not need that.

If one does not have a good handle on the OT Books then one does not have a real indepth understanding. Because the OT is the Blueprint for the NT in fact !

That is why when a worthy Jew of the OT comes to Jesus, they have it in the bag, so as to become a great Christian, that is not fooled by nonsense that so called Jews peddle as well.

We have so called Christians who will openly swallow a lot of OT nonsense that is just dribble. for they start barking up the wrong Tree.

The biggest problem with the Jews is The Talmud whore in fact ! and sadly Christianity nowadays swallows so much Talmud nonsense.

Take the Talmud out and away from that of the Jews life ! and they will be free of that bastard Curse !

Anyone who has a handle on understanding the Talmud Knows that such is clearly much worse than Hitlers book by far !
In fact Hitlers book was clearly inspired by the Talmud books !

Why does not the Media and the Governments around the world Expose the Talmud for what it truly is ! It's outragious totaly 100% Racist Prejudice and totaly outright Bigotted to the extream !
Nothing comes close to such total insanity extreamist madness. Nothing !

A lot to take in. I’ll read it again tomorrow and give a more thoughtful reply.

There is a lot of facts there that can be checked out.
There is also a lot of speculation.
But it does answer a lot of questions.
I do not have a copy of the seminar, but I took a lot of notes.

Here, I put more thought into your provocative post.

A professor at the University of Cambridge use to teach a course called “To understand Christianity, you must understand Judaism.”
A vid I watched made this point as well. Jesus is the Jewish Messiah and there is no evidence he ever stopped being Jewish. So, one must understand the Jewish religion to fully grasp what prophecies Jesus fulfilled in explaining his ministry.
God's Sprit will cut through anybody's understanding.
Agreed.
The Jews believed and scriptures supported the belief that the Messiah would be a warlord king that would take out the Jewish oppressors with Yahweh’s help in what is referred to as “the great and terrible day of the Lord.”

Revelation 19 affirms this. It does not contradict it.

There is nothing in the Old Testament to suggest that the Messiah would be killed and return thousands of years later.
Untrue. It is suggested the Messiah will be killed in the curse from the fall in Genesis 3:15, where God put enmity between the offsprings and the human offspring's heel will be struck.

Also, it is more than suggested in the suffering servant of Isaiah 53. Perhaps the Jews took this passage to be a personification of the nation of Israel as a whole? Such a take is schizophrenic with V5 Upon him was the punishment that made us whole, and by his bruises, we are healed. "He" and "his" is also Israel making themselves whole by "us" and "we", means Israel is their own deliverer? And V12 talk about "his" death for the intercession of the transgressors. If the nation of Israel dies, who will the intercession be for? It is illogical to presume the nation of Israel is their own deliverer, their own interceder.

Therefore, the Jews could not reconcile this Anointed who is a suffering servant with the Anointed who is a warlord king of the world.

Regarding the time frame of 1,000's of years later of a return not being suggested, this is also untrue. There is also nothing to suggest an immediate resolution to the Fall either. More than a suggestion, it is implied that it will be 1,000's of years later as the prophets kept speaking of him for centuries.

1770472549247.png

This was one of the reasons that the Jews did not believe Yeshua was the Messiah because Elijah did not introduce him.
Who appeared with Jesus to the Apostles at the transfiguration? More than Elijah, introduced the Anointed. Matthew 17:5-6
5 While he was still speaking, a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!”
6 When the disciples heard this, they fell facedown to the ground, terrified.

Who announced "this is my son" from the cloud as Moses, Elijah and Jesus stood on the mountain? This scene reminds me of Isaiah 42:8
I am Yahweh. That is my name.
I will not give my glory to another,

In other words, the prophecy was that Elijah would introduce the Anointed. While this is true, this passage fulfilled the prophecy in even more dramatic fashion than was foretold. The disciples were not terrified at the appearance of Elijah and what it meant regarding prophecy. They were terrified to know the voice of God himself was introducing the Anointed also.

So what changed that caused all this to happen? It is not written in the scriptures and apparently the Apostles did not know. So all we know is that something changed and it apparently happened between the Testaments.

There is an implied premise in your question that is false. Nothing changed. It's merely the unfolding revelation of God's plan.

One reason prophecies are vague is it cannot be specific enough for Satan to take advantage of this knowledge.

But this speculation is not complete because it does not explain who the Holy Spirit is. This information was obviously meant to be a secret because the name of the Holy Spirit was never revealed, probably because it would be too shocking.
This speculative part of your post is a little confusing regarding your focus on OT text only - except for here. The HS is not a person in the OT, it is identified as the motivating force of the person of God. See Genesis 1:2.

That is, God is spirit (not a body) and holy (not mundane) but his spirit (his intentions, his motives, his plans, his logos, his sense of justice, grace, mercy and love) is what puts things of Creation into motion. This explains why the HS has no name, not it would be too shocking for us to know it. Where does that even come from? The Bible makes knowing a person's name very important over and over again, from God himself whose name is revealed on Mt. Sinai, and put his name in his book over 6,000 times. Then there is Jacob becoming Israel, Simon becoming Peter, Saul becoming Paul and even Jesus getting a new name in Revelation 3:12.

One reason the Spirit of God has no name could be because IT is not a person, and therefore, has no name. Not a secret at all. Putting all this aside, what does this have to do with to understand Christianity, you must understand Judaism?

ABSOLUTELY FALSE.
Christianity and judaism are diametrically opposed to one another.
The authoritative book of modern judaism is the talmud, which not only perverts the writings of the Old Testament ( as with the Pharisees), but includes the "mystical" ( anti- Christ) kabbalah.

If you have no clue of what I am talking about,
A) I forgive you and your premise
B) learn what judaism teaches ( especially when it comes to non-jews, and what it says about Jesus Christ) and this way you can warn others.

Sadly there are a lot of Christians that have no idea what has been hidden from them . Look what happened to Martin Luther when he found out.

Understanding Christianity? Looking to Israel may indeed be helpful. A wicked and adulterous nation if ever there was one.

Christianity has so little to do with Christ these days. Or is it, Christ has very little to do with Christianity?

To know Christ is far superior to understanding Christianity, and far more achievable.

To understand Christianity you must first get to know the Lord Jesus Christ on a personal level.

For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. - 1 Corinthians 2:2

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. - John 16:13

Without the Christ experience you are as bad as everyone else. Even though you are in the correct Bible and doctrine.

The Jews do not believe in Hell or the Devil or that their reward is Heaven, because the Old Testament scriptures do not speak of such things. If you read words like Hell or Hades or the Devil in the Old Testament in your Bible, it is time to get a better Bible….That is for sure and certain.

Ironically, there are certain Christian denominations that believe that too. In the OT, there was no pathway for the Hebrews/Israelites to ascend to heaven prior to Christ. So, all they really knew about was the grave (sheol). Plus, they just weren't given a divine revelation about such things like the NT saints were. That would explain why there wasn't an emphasis on heaven, hell, or eternal rewards in the OT, but why there is in the NT.

In the Old Testament all souls went to Sheol….which had levels, good and bad? Which brings up other questions. In the New Testament the dead are said to be asleep and in the end will resurrect….does that mean the souls are in the grave? Not defined.

That gets into the whole topic of soul sleep. To me, it's pretty clear that the NT doesn't endorse that concept, and sleep is used purely as a euphemism.

I think it was always God's plan to send Christ in the flesh to redeem humanity since before the foundations of the world were laid. God would have already foreseen Adam & Eve's fall before they were ever created. But redemption is a slow process for reasons that may not be apparent to us.

I guess it depends on what you count as Judaism. The roots of Judaism go all the way back to Abraham. Their Hebrew Bible (the Tanakh) is our Old Testament. A good third of the New Testament quotes from or alludes to the Old Testament. So, you can't separate Christianity from its Jewish/Hebraic roots without turning it into something unrecognizable. The Talmud came much later. So, there is a distinction between how Judaism is practiced now and how it was practiced 2,000 years ago.

Very well said. Martin Luther flipped his lid when he found out! I can't imagine what this world would be like without jewish supremacy. Have to wait for Jesus.
Martin Luther was all for the Jews ! but not for in regards a type of so called Jews ? who were clearly total bastards in regards that such Banking and such was clearly undermining any Nation that such worked to undermine the People there of !

That's the reason why the Jews got kicked out of so many Nations in History in fact ! Because they were outright ripping off the Nations people.

But the Nations in fact needed the Jews for the progress or the Nation was lead by fools who lacked the buisness sense !

The Jews were way better educated people than say the English or Germans etc etc, so they needed the Jews ! but problem was that such Jews looked dowen their nose on all other Nations peoples as inferiour nubskuls and fools !

The real issue of the problem of the Jews is the Talmud whore.
The Tamud whore must be exposed for this has clearly heald the People of God back ! and clearly is responcible for all of the cause so much pain to not only the Jews and everyone ! who is under such a demonic out right Evil influence !

One who has not Grace is in fact an abomination ! such a lack of Grace is clearly a cycle of dog eat dog ! and the so called Christian world of today is good for nothing ! because such will not expose the Talmud but the Talmud clearly has hold of so called Christianity as a puppet nowadays. for they are totaly in bed with forces that will only undermine what is left of our Saviour being The Lord.

Socialist are clearly under the Talmud gods power, just look at their depravity ! it's astounding !

There is nothing wrong with the Religion of the OT Jews, but for the workings of this world that creeps in, as all of their History proves. in fact. Jesus came to Save them ! For they needed the Grace of God ! because they were lead astray ! as we see in the story of the Vineyard.

That gets into the whole topic of soul sleep. To me, it's pretty clear that the NT doesn't endorse that concept, and sleep is used purely as a euphemism.

I think it was always God's plan to send Christ in the flesh to redeem humanity since before the foundations of the world were laid. God would have already foreseen Adam & Eve's fall before they were ever created. But redemption is a slow process for reasons that may not be apparent to us.

You said: "I guess it depends on what you count as Judaism. The roots of Judaism go all the way back to Abraham. "
The roots were always Christ since the foundation of the world. The Old Testament was just that ...a testament or covenant to a people of no significance after the Cross. Now it's New Covenant time.

You also said: "The Talmud came much later. So, there is a distinction between how Judaism is practiced now and how it was practiced 2,000 years ago."

But the distinction means nothing. 99.9% of jews TODAY follow talmudic judaism. The past is the past. It is irrelevant. We should all be concerned about what they have in store for us goyim. And it's coming fast.

I forgive you too.
Christianity and judaism are diametrically opposed to one another?
Yeshua was a Jew.
As a theologian I am use to dealing with a lot if ignorance.

His name is Jesus Christ. And what's most important is that He is Lord. Being a jew or any ethnicity for that matter means nothing when it comes to salvation.

No one knows where the word Jesus came from it just showed up in the 17th century....and there is no J's in the scriptures......Look it up......Yob....Yacob....Yoshua....yericho...etc. The word that is actually used for Christ's name is Ἰησοῦς and it is Greek and it means healer.....or doctor. And that is how it translates in the English. Which does not matter because Miriam would not have given her Son a Greek name.
There is your lessen, where can I send the bill?

To understand Christianity you must first get to know the Lord Jesus Christ on a personal level.

For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. - 1 Corinthians 2:2

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. - John 16:13

Without the Christ experience you are as bad as everyone else. Even though you are in the correct Bible and doctrine.
"To understand Christianity you must first get to know the Lord Jesus Christ on a personal level.

For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. - 1 Corinthians 2:2"

Yes. This says it all. AMEN.
