""What and who are we to obey to be saved, by the way?""
You claim :-
""The apostles cannot, in any manner, teach any of us today about the topic of salvation and eternal life because they are long gone, too.""
So where do you get your teachings about how you will enter eternal life ?
Not where but to whom shall we get the specifics of our salvation? The only source of the specifics of our salvation is the Lord Jesus Christ. Hence, coming to and following Him until the end is inevitable to attain eternal life.

List the verses but remember you reject the teachings of all the Apostles as being applicable for today

Jesus is the Savior, not the apostles. Bear that in mind. Jesus is all we need to be saved.

Christ is savior - correct.
Using verses, how is a believer saved today according to your understanding ?

No one knows if a person is saved or not, but the Savior Himself alone - Jesus Christ. Biblical verses, Matt 19:21; 11:29-29; and John 5:40 point us to Jesus. But the specifics of salvation lie in the hands of Jesus when we come to Him and follow Him while He is shepherding us.

Sorry, my post responded appropriately to your request. Jesus alone knows the status of anyone’s salvation. If we persist in using verses to warrant the salvation of anyone, we’re just expressing our opinion then.

Verses are there so believers can learn.
List the verses that you believe teach how someone today is saved :)

FYI, biblical verses point us to Jesus for our salvation, not to teach us the way to our salvation, as you opined. Jesus is our Teacher and Good Shepherd who guides and shepherds us to our salvation. He is the rewarder of salvation. Come to and call upon the Lord if you want to be saved.

There are no verses in the teachings of Jesus [in the bible] that tell us what we must do to be eternally saved, except to point us and tell us to come to Jesus so that we might have life (Matt 11:28-29; 19:21; John 5:49). We all need to be shepherded by Jesus to attain salvation and eternal life, which is the sole function of Jesus.

You previously stated :-
""The apostles cannot, in any manner, teach any of us today about the topic of salvation and eternal life because they are long gone, too.""
But now, you want us to pay attention to :-
""(Matt 11:28-29; 19:21; John 5:49)""
So do we listen to what the "long gone" Apostles taught or not ?

Those verses are direct utterances of Jesus, telling all of us to come to Him. If you come to Jesus, what do you think will happen next?

To whom and how did you receive salvation?

From Gods Offering Through Christ the Lord Jesus.

Brief inanutshell…
How?
Heard, Read, Learned Some, Pondered, Decided to Delve deep in Serious Study, Trusted to Heartfully Believe, Chose to Call on Lord Jesus, Confess of Having Had not Believed, Confessed My True Heartful Belief.
Gave my body in death Crucified with Jesus’ Body. Trust the Lord Verified my Heartful Belief, Trust He Faithfully Restored (saved my soul), Trust He Faithfully Quickened (gave me a circumcised new Heart and His Seed), Birthed me a New Spirit. Trust He dwells in me, and Trust I dwell in His Risen Body. Trust He has Prepared my body: (forgiven, cleansed, Sanctified, Sealed, Justified (set apart), Until the day of Rapture and unveiling to See Him as He IS….and forward, service unto Him, and more is accomplished to prepare for Heaven and Earth to become Gods One Holy Kingdom.

Glory to God,
Taken

The first party to salvation is yourself, and the Lord Jesus Christ is the second party to it [salvation], not lengthy words out of studying and memorizing passages, which save no one. Unless the Lord shepherds and guides us to our salvation, no one gets saved.

The Offering of Salvation is FROM God.
The Willingness / desire/ agreement to RECEIVE Salvation is per the mans response to the Offering.

You asked How…
I gave a Mans response.

Is there an issue?

So you believe the Gospels only ?

And if so, who wrote the 4 Gospels ?

It wasn't Jesus.

Yes, what you’re saying is not in accordance with Jesus’ teaching about salvation and eternal life. I’m not sure where you’ve gotten your notion of salvation.

Jesus’ teaching requires us all to come to Him and follow Him until the end. Rewarding salvation is the sole function of Jesus.
