Effectively closed, anyway, perhaps not legally.

But especially if you’re the captain of a 300,000-ton tanker insured by Lloyd’s and you’d prefer not to be vaporized by a drone, you might consider that distinction academic.

We all know this will trigger something at the gas station.

China gets a substantial amount of oil from Iran and are pleading that they do not stop shipments. So closing it - which the USA would NOT allow for any lengthy period of time, would hurt Iran. Drones can be shot down.
Iranian religious leaders may choose Ayatollah's Son to replace him - in which case, their agenda might remain the same. Go ahead, test Trump ... yet some more - see what happens.
Sometimes children don't quite follow their parents footsteps. ? We should send that Progressive psychologist from that commercial, who shames us for following in our parents footsteps to this Ayatollah! Just kidding.
Nevertheless, they will try to continue the theocracy. Chances of the citizens overthrowing the government/military and creating a democratic state is unlikely. This was good
... but a hornets nest is opened.

Never heard that commercial.

The violent minority will try to continue the theocracy.

While I agree a democratic state is unlikely, such nation building is NOT the measure of success. The mission is to take out Iran's capacity to wage war - directly or through proxies. The mission is just about accomplished. Don't buy into the propagandists in the media who set a standard for Republicans designed to fail them.

This was good

What a great friend Iran is, its friend China will suffer the most.

As far as I can tell, only China is allowed to go through the Straight of H.
I doubt Trump will try to prevent that.
I think he prefers not to upset China right now.

Involving the Kurds makes it more complicated. If I had to guess, I'd say that part of Iran gets "liberated" and given to the Kurds. That isn't going to please the Iranians, even the ones that wanted the Ayatollah gone

And now the Ayatollah's son will replace him and he said he will fight to the end. This is a big mistake inserting his son. This is not the will of the people, just another totalitarian regime continued. Grieving over his father, emotional, angry ... of course he wants revenge.
