But the US military is engaged in operations, as they routinely do for a plethora of reasons…
That is always for a benefit for America (long or short term) security, protection, advantage of America and her People.

I am of the opinion Trump thinks he is speaking to Adults with an awareness of History and Common sense of what another Nation is planning is typically more in-depth than the US intelligence knows and Thus some things are iffy and can Quickly change the course of action.

It may be the best strategy now. America cannot change the regime or defeat Iran just from the air. It would require drastic measures like hundreds of thousands of American soldiers invading Iran, which would be a political end of Trump and it would produce a total economic mess worldwide.

So, claiming some empty victory, even though the regime is now even more hardlined than before is probably the only card Trump can play now.

But what is worse - Iran now sees that negotiations are useless and Israel/America can attack them any moment. While nobody attacks North Korea. The difference is - nuclear weaponry.
