For decades Iran has been telling anybody would would listen that they desire to destroy the US and Israel both.

There's a difference between threat and immediate threat. The justification for the war is being framed by the administration as a response to an immediate nuclear threat coming out of Iran. But it hasn't produced any evidence to support these claims.

To be fair, North Korea has said the same thing for decades. That country now possess nuclear weapons and there's been no such war.

That being said, it's fat more likely the Iranian regime would not use such weapons, but would instead keep them as a deterrent. It depends. Geopolitics is not a game of checkers, it's a game of chess. By this logic, we should have struck Moscow as soon as Putin gave the order to invade Ukraine. Which would have led to a nuclear war and the end of the world.

The questions surrounding the Iran war are not unreasonable. Especially given how much it's driving up costs for the average American. What we know so far is that, according to Marco Rubio, the Israelis told president Trump that they were going to unilaterally strike Iran, and that the president made the decision to join them in this endeavor.

People have a problem with this because again, this is another strike during a time when negotiations between the two countries was supposedly taking place, and it's Israel dictating American foreign policy. Why didn't Trump tell them no? Why doesn't he ever tell Bibi no? Look at the way Trump treats his allies and then look how he treats Israel. The diffrrence is night and day and we need to know why.
