I don't think Trump's dementia is the issue. The problem is, he's focusing on law-abiding undocumented workers, and putting less effort into dealing with drug smugglers. And so more fentanyl deaths in the last year, due to his choices.

It's not just the left who are concerned about the rise in fentanyl deaths in the last year.
We gonna have to return to POINTING ONLY TO CHRIST .
This is what's hard for a lot of people. There are perfectly good Christians who have all sorts of political beliefs. And there are plenty of people on the right who are not happy that this administration is putting less effort into stopping drug smuggling.

What keeps happening now, over and over, is that the White House can still control records, limit disclosure, curate camera angles, and flood the zone with loyalist noise, but it is having a harder and harder time controlling the one thing that matters most: the spectacle of Donald Trump in public for long stretches of time.

No one outside his medical team can responsibly diagnose him from clips, transcripts, or cabinet-room wanderings. Dangerous.

Immigrants are significantly less likely to commit crimes than the U.S.-born

A study co-led by Northwestern University economist Elisa Jácome provides the first historical comparison of incarceration rates of immigrants to U.S.-born citizens.


Using incarceration rates as a proxy for crime, a team of economists analyzed 150 years of U.S. Census data and found immigrants were consistently less likely to be incarcerated than people born in the U.S.


They also found beginning in 1960, the incarceration gap widened such that immigrants today are 60% less likely to be incarcerated than the U.S.-born.


“Our study shows that since 1870, it has never been the case that immigrants as a group have been more incarcerated than the U.S.-born,” Jácome said.


This confirms Texas data showing the same things for arrests:
An NIJ-funded study examining data from the Texas Department of Public Safety estimated
the rate at which undocumented immigrants are arrested for committing crimes. The study
found that undocumented immigrants are arrested at less than half the rate of native-born
U.S. citizens for violent and drug crimes and a quarter the rate of native-born citizens for
property crimes.[1]

I should trust what you say and not my lying eyes. We are a nation of laws and no rationalization for breaking them will be accepted. In addition, to be a nation means we must have a border that is secure. This is an existential threat and you resort to gas lighting.

You're right about laws. If a law is harmful to America, the answer is not to ignore it, but to change it. That's where we are on immigration now.

In addition, to be a nation means we must have a border that is secure.
In fact, until the 20th century, we had mostly open borders.

For much of its history, America had essentially open borders, both before the establishment of the United States and after. In 1921 the Emergency Quota Act, initially intended to be a temporary measure, imposed the first serious restrictions on entry into the United States.

This is an existential threat
It's actually what's keeping us from declining the way Russia is declining. Immigration of workers is precisely what is necessary for this country during a declining birth rate.

This contribution reflects the “immigration surge” that began in 2021 and continued through the early part of 2025. The Congressional Budget Office projected that this specific surge in population would account for an $8.9 trillion increase in nominal GDP over the 2024–2034 period.

Of this total, $7.8 trillion is directly attributable to the increase in the size of the population. This contradicts claims that the economy, rather than slicing the economic pie into smaller pieces, immigration enlarges the pie, creating new demand, new markets, and new investment opportunities.

The “demand side” of this equation is equally critical. Immigrants are consumers. In 2023, immigrant households held billions in spending power, which circulates through the economy, supporting U.S. businesses from local retail to national housing markets.

Even undocumented immigrants, a group often marginalized in economic data, held $299 billion in spending power in 2023. This consumption supports the employment of native-born workers in logistics, retail, and service sectors.


I realize that it's not the economic benefits of immigrants that scare some foolish people so much. It's the fear that they will overtake us and "replace us" as one racist group has feared.

They don't want to overtake us; they want to join us. They've heard about the American Dream and they want to be part of it. In the words of Ronald Reagan:

There is evidence that the good guys are winning:

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Americans have grown markedly more positive toward immigration over the past year, with the share wanting immigration reduced dropping from 55% in 2024 to 30% today. At the same time, a record-high 79% of U.S. adults say immigration is a good thing for the country.

If some Americas who voted for President Trump... decided to ""turn on Trump" because their gas prices are $1 more at the gas pump right now, then that explains that they dont see the big picture. They are short sighted and have no ability to see "down the road".
