That's bravado, which I'm generally in favor. However, this goes against protocol. While I'm not privy to how the protocol was developed, we have to trust those with the authority to create protocol have good reason to do what they do.

One can think of reasons to pause the event:

1. The crime scene can be inadvertantly contaminated by the guests.
2. While investigated the crime scene, law enforcement are distracted from their primary mission of protecting VIP's, making it easier for another assassin in the event the first one is not a lone wolf.
3. One officer was shot, meaning the staff levels were reduced, making it imprudent to continue.
4. Knowledge of PTSD may suggest even for POTUS, it's better to have immediate down time to decompress and process what happened and what could have happened.

I'm just tired of people jumping to whatever the narrative spin is of the day.
I don't use alcohol, but I believe there is no law against using it recreationally. People go to parties and events sometimes drink more than they should.

There's the video of him not too long ago going to some sporting event in Europe (at tax payer's expense) where he was in the local room after the game with the players guzzling down beer like a college frat boy.

It's a very bad look for the head of the FBI doing this. If he were actually a professional law enforcement officer he would be acting like one by being professional in the public eye and keep his drunken stupors behind closed door like others in the public eye. The smart ones who are in the public eye at least keep their drunken stupors private as to not give their detractors ammo to use against them like Patel has done.

All he is doing is contributing to the dems story line that conservatives are not qualified which is slow, really slow to be giving them ammo like that. Trump is slow for picking someone who doesn't know how to act as a professional, but then Trump doesn't know how to act like a professional more times than not either so I guess this is par for course for the end times regardless of which political party they belong to.
