In 1 Samuel 26, King Saul pursued David, intending to kill him. Then, while Saul and his army were sleeping nearby, David crept up, right beside Saul, but refused to kill him, and instead took his spear and water jug. (1 Samuel 26:7-12)
It is curious that these two objects of Saul’s were mentioned, the water jug in particular. (One never reads of David or any others in Samuel traveling with water jugs.)
How big was it? Was it Huge, requiring a wagon for travel, or small enough to have by one’s side in the night?
Any historians have a clue?
Blessings.
