Mountain lions, bears, pumas, coyotes, cougars, rattle snakes, sharks. California is worse than Australia

And some are venomous!

Yes, and the advice given by snake catchers in Australia is that if you come across a snake near you, move away slowly otherwise stand perfectly still and let the snake move away. While a person is standing still the snake perceives that that person is not a threat to the snake.

Most snake bites are caused by the person trying to kill the snake and the snake strikes back to defend itself.

Some snake bites happen when a person does not see the snake and nearly stands on the snake.

There is a lot of misconceptions out their which are propagated by people who have no real knowledge of how to "behave" in the presence of a venomous creature. The same is true for mountain lions as well.

I watch this young guy in South Africa who catches snakes to relocate them. Some beautiful homes there. Also lovely homes in Australia I think.
