David is a very well spoken writer, he may surprise you. We'll see.
I'll read his words. A man after God's heart. David, despite his his faults, God was with Him. I stumble on that so hard, brother. How can God keep him? I'm currently lost, but thank you. Can you start a new thread to talk about David? I ask sincerely and in love.

Look, a civilized brotherly conversation.

I like that!

David was willing to go where God wanted to take him.

I'm sure there are some who would like that.

I think the ones lacking in self control, who spend their time badmouthing others should be the ones to go. But that's just me.
I see this on both sides. I mean it's ok for you to hurl insults like "false teacher" and "childish" but condemn those you judge when they respond. I guess you would join the Pharisees when they condemned John the Baptist when he called them a den of vipers.
I also have hard time reading amigo's posts. They are the literary equivalent of Charlie Brown's teacher. Usually followed up with a post by Marvelloustime's scripture as religious slogan plaques. They are sure to like each other's posts so he keeps his highest reaction score rating. I can tolerate it, however, don't get me wrong. It does get a bit wearisome when he posts his diatribe of inclusionism all over a prayer request or a welcome to new member thread irregardless of the topic being discussed. You all need to go and learn "I will have mercy and not sacrifice" then you wouldn't condemn the righteous.

Mt 12:7 But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.

People are so quick to condemn catholics to hell but ignore one glaring truth...many of them TRULY have the love of God in their heart and have 10x the intimacy with Jesus than they will ever have.
The Lord will say to some:

Mt 7:15 And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!

Let's hope he doesn't say to some He DOES know:

Jn 5:42 But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you.

Hmm. I wonder who that might best apply to of those posting on this thread?

I saw where you asked if it was AI, did he acknowedge that? Or are you simply assuming you are correct?

And thank you for sharing your opinion of me, that always make the world a brighter place!

:-)
Hey @marks . I wrote my reply hard in my flesh, in regards to my opinion of you. I didn't catch what I wrote then. Man, I'm awful. Please forgive. I judged you, trying to sit on God's throne. I can't do that. Once again, I ask for forgiveness. I have no excuse for my post. I'm sorry, truly. Much love back, my brother.

I want to ask you. How? I once got so mad thinking what David did to Urhiah, near the pulpit of my last church, as I talked to a brother in Christ. I couldn't fathom how God let him off so easy. It makes me cry, because I can't see His mercy anymore.

You have to see God's mercy for purpose...a purpose that goes beyond just arbitrarily saving someone because of some shallow reason.

No, David was a deeply devoted man who loved God...but got mixed up in what he considered to be things of "lesser" importance. So in David's pursuit of a holy God, he forgot (or never knew) how important a basic human righteousness is. This is why I stress righteousness on both levels.

Did David blaspheme the Holy Spirit? No, but he shattered the "lesser" commandment of loving your neighbour as yourself. Did David love Uriah as he ought to have? no.

Another thing that David lacked was experience at being a king...and the responsibility that entailed. As king, he could order men to their deaths as a matter of course. And he got so used to having that kind of power that this "privilege" greatly overshadowed his humility and compassion for others.

But David was teachable. And God loves mercy. Not everyone to whom God shows mercy is teachable...as we see right here on the forum. So, then even a murderer and adulterer can be forgiven IF they turn to God and forsake their own ways. Another example of this is the apostle Paul who got caught up in a religious hubris thinking that this was permissible and desirable.

We can learn things...but how deep does it go? Some of us will be tested more than others. And it's easy to look down on the failures of those who have been sorely tested. But remember the faithful son's reaction to his prodigal brother getting shown mercy. His brother was dead, but now he is alive again. Sin doesn't have to be the end of us...just the end of a chapter in our lives where we were misguided and unlearned.

Peace bro! <><

God didn't let him off easy at all. David suffered some severe consequences because of his sins. And the Lord didn't forgive him until he actually REPENTED.

Maybe you would like to compare that simple truth with all of Epi's politically correct blather above.

You are literally being too kind here. You actually spoke the truth but with a force that you weren't accustomed to. Discernment is good. Rebuking pride is good. There is a time for this IF you want the truth to have dominion over the many lies being propagated in the churches of today. I hope you will measure what you posted to Mark with this...

Cursed is he that keeps back his sword from blood.

Let the timid be strong in the Lord to bring down enemy strongholds. OK so maybe I'm more of a lion and warrior...but I got that way through love of God and love of the truth. Also being empowered and inspired by God to be that way.

Blessings and peace.

Wow epi you have revealed a lot there.

He was not a deeply devoted man but a selfish, promiscuous, manipulative, coniving, cruel, lying, evil person.

Any man can be saved though if he turns from his sins and repents.

Really?? David SINNED....horribly. Is it judgmental to say so? Or shouldn't we believe and accept God's judgment on such things?

Your political correctness and virtue signalling (AKA self righteousness) is showing. You are not serving the true Jesus Christ. Do you know Him?

I think women in general don't understand men, and that a man can be more than one thing at the same time. All God has to do is to cut off that other"thing" and you have a better man. I think men have a better grasp of what it means to be circumcised whereby that other thing is cut off.

The churches of today are WAYYYYY too feminized...and men have also been feminized. Just look at all the snowflakes and wilting flowers here that purport to be men of God. It is shameful.

David was a man after God's heart no matter what any woman (or feminized man) says... :dusted:

Men of God....VERY rare in our day and age.

Women have there own idea of what a man of God ought to be...but would women even recognize a true man of God...a man that God trained? I am sure it wouldn't be like the woman's idea or desire because the man would NOT bow to her desires, he would bow to God's desires only.

Isaiah 4:1
"And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach."

Do you ever read Paul or about Paul in the bible without thinking that he was a murderer? There were some in his day that never forgave him...never trusted him. Now the opposite is true...elevating his words (erroneously as it turns out) above those of Jesus.

Paul rightly denounced what he had done and was rightly ashamed and thought he was the worst of men.. That's a bit different to saying he got a bit confused.

Just because David didn't show up with flowers and chocolates doesn't mean that he wasn't able to put his sinful ways behind him. Less drama, more content. Ma'am.:tiphat:

He repented, that's what it means. He turned from all sin. Not some regrets. It's you who says he was a bit confused leading him to sin.

We need to lower the estrogen levels here. You are not quoting what I said...you are reading it with a propensity for drama.

Did I mention that the churches are WAY too feminized today? Women don't know their place anymore. (That should get the estrogen going) :hmhehm
