Christ for the life. Rather, they stick to the letter of the Scriptures,
and oppose the life with the letter. They keep themselves from the life
by their wisdom and knowledge in the letter. In this way they put the
Scriptures into the place of Christ, and so honor neither Christ nor the
Scriptures.”

Big fan of the early quakers who I am starting to see that they were right about when the apostacy started, since I withdrew from EO.

Of course. Men build monuments for them AFTER they have died, or been murdered. (Or have spent decades imprisoned like Pennington).

Knowledge of interpretations of the scriptures by holy sinless men who were in the same culture and spoke the same language helps us avoid errors that we may be unaware of.

It was through studying them that I was cured of Protestantism. Any doctrine not found in them is out of whack. Original sin is one of them.

What you don't realize is that many of these stopped sinning because they are dead. So then people can honour the fact that dead people don't sin. What is MORE amazing than that is to be still alive and stop sinning.

So they were still under the old covenant as many are today.

What you don't realize is that many of these stopped sinning because they are dead. So then people can honour the fact that dead people don't sin. What is MORE amazing than that is to be still alive and stop sinning.

They were recognised in their lifetimes as sinless or in other words in theosis or in the kingdom, not because they said so but because they were given testimony by those who knew them well.

One of the reasons why I read saints from the past is, because I am not walking in the Spirit anymore and therefore am not reliably led by the Spirit and my discernment is not as good as it was so I check my beliefs against scriptures and the olden saints in case I am misled.

Yes!! And it was a BLIND man who was HEALED, as in he COULD SEE. And the Pharisees kick him out of the temple (in this case want him banned). It's a great analogy, thanks @marks !!

Mark, the Jesus of your hopes and dreams is not the real Jesus. Whom He loves He chastens and rebukes. You see that as very offensive. So the Jesus you think you know is an imposter. Better to know that now.

Nice try to twist my words. The Pharisees accused the healed man....as you accuse me. You want to ban me just like the Pharisees sought to cast out the healed man. That's the correct parallel here. I'm using the same kind of phrasing but to opposite effect. I'm not accusing anyone. I'm showing the hypocrisy of religious ideologues who are just like the Pharisees.

Revelation? Unheard of in this time of the great apostasy. People have their bibles that they can misinterpret for themselves...who needs prophets?

Who asked for a prophet? Nothing prophetic in what you preach, just your run of the mill Calvinist.
Calvinists are infiltrators.....deceivers from the get go. That is why you will generally not see a church with that name on the board out front. They infiltrate churches.....I have already had my show downs with them. (Not that you are a participating Christian that goes to church.....I would say you are probably more of an arm chair quarterback.)

Chastens and rebukes, absolutely! This is the lifeline He promises to all of us who know Him.

Reframe it all you like, I've merely posted your words next to the Pharisee's words to show the similarity. Surely you see it.
