Hello,

Ive not read past the first page of this Thread, so, if anyone has asked you this previously, then thats good, and if not, i have a question for you.

The word of God says that "All have sinned" and that "Jesus came into the world to save Sinners".

So, @Mancunian .........could you tell us how you feel those 2 verses specifically apply to you?
I don't buy into the concept of sin and sinners, so it follows that I think that Jesus would be wasting his time with me.
I don't believe that Adam and Eve existed, I believe that Homosapiens evolved through natural selection... I do believe that the wheels were set in motion by some kind of creative force.

Giant Pandas...eat other types of vegetation, grasses, fruit, and bulbs. You can look that up and verify it if you like. From what I read pandas will occasionally scavenge carrion or hunt small rodents like pikas. You can even look that up.
Do you know that in zoos and sanctuaries, pandas have been known to gladly accept meat? They are also fed specially formulated nutrient biscuits, sugarcane, apples, bananas, and sweet potatoes.

The question becomes...did Pandas only eat bamboo on the ark?

Now the koala....

Koalas....like the Pandas the Koalas have many similarities with their diet....that is they don't only eat eucalyptus leaves just as Pandas don't only eat bamboo. The Koalas have been know to eat the following leaves from these trees...(I got these from the internet...it's easy to find.)
  • Melaleuca (Paperbark trees)
  • Acacia (Wattle trees)
  • Leptospermum (Tea trees)
  • Lophostemon (Brush box trees)
The question becomes...did koalas only eat eucalyptus leaves on the ark?

In addition to those thoughts above...
There is also no reason to assume that the pandas and koalas of the pre-flood time would have not been herbivores or omnivores capable of eating standard food brought on board the Ark such as hay, grains, dried fruits, or roots. Then after departing from the ark the panda and koala speciated from their original ancestral kind and developed their hyperspecific, restrictive modern diets.

Then again you being the expert..know the panda and koala ONLY eat bamboo and eucalyptus leaves. Period. That's your argument in a nut shell.
Pandas 99% of their diet is bamboo.
Koalas almost entirety rely on eucalyptus.
I have looked it up, if you want to believe that any animal that disembarked from the ark could walk, run, hop, swim vast distances sometimes spanning oceans fuelled by rat and seaweed then that's up to you my friend.

@Mancunian ,

typically a devout atheist exists in one of these 5 Categories.

Which are you?.........which of these is most like your mental take on Christianity. ??

1.) Religion is an opiate for the Masses

2.) Jesus is a Myth that is no different then Zeus or the Easter Bunny or Thor.

3.) Christianity is a mental crutch for the weak minded who can't deal with life.

4.) The Christian God is a Tyrant who created Hell just to burn people.

5.) I only believe in what i can see with my own eyes and i can't see Jesus, or God, or The Cross, so, i dont believe in what i can't see.

So, @Mancunian , are any of those specifically relating to your anti-God and anti-Christ Mindset?,

So, you are telling us that you've never sinned, or are you trying to confirm that you dont believe in the concept of sin, or original sin, ? @Mancunian ?
I don't believe in the concept of sin. I don't believe Jesus had anything to redeem us for.

I believe from what I've read that Jesus was a good man, I believe that humanity could learn lessons from Jesus' life and his preaching. I don't believe humanity does though and that includes a lot of Christians.

I don't believe in the concept of sin

So, "the concept of sin" is based on the Bible....
Its based on the reality that there is good and evil and people do both.
If you do good, its called Good......if you do EVIL then the bible refers to this as Sin.

So, do you believe that you've never done any evil?
Or do you believe that evil is a concept that you also refuse to accept @Mancunian ?

Just to clarify. I have no problem with admitting that there could be/was a creator.

As I've said numerous times, my problem is with people who claim to know for certain who or what that creator wants, his or her likes and dislikes, his or her nature/personality and so on.

I don't like putting myself in a category. I have my own thoughts and feelings on the subject and I'm glad that this forum allows me to share them.

None of the above.
If you want to put me in a box.... Go for it.

You've already put yourself in the box.
Im just curious to find out which Atheist's box you have locked yourself into.

And you are not required to answer my Questions........but, we can't have a sincere conversation if you have decided that you are only here to refuse to answer questions with legit and honest answers.
Is that how you plan to continue?
You're not just here to TROLL Christians on a Christian forum , are you? As we see this type from time to time, here.

So.......Do consider that you are on a Chrisitan forum, and you wanted us all to know that you have rejected God, Christ, Salvation, and Eternal life, willingly.
You are defined in the NT in a specific verse found in Hebrews. Chapter 10, vs, 26.
See.... we, the members here, who have not made those terrible choices...... would want to know why you did.
So, that's why im asking you specific questions.

Also, there is a misconception you have that you stated.....
You stated that you were "raised to be a Christian", and in fact that is impossible, as noone is raised to be a Christian.
Now, you can be raised in a home where Christian values are the moral code.......but that does not make you a Christian.
A "Christian" is someone who has come to the knowledge of their sin, and wants to be forgiven, before they die and meet God.
So, they put their faith in Christ, who is their Salvation, and God gives them forgiveness and the Spiritual Birth....... (Born again).....and that is not water baptism.

So, if you want to have a conversation about your Atheism, then im curious, but if not.......... thats fine also.

Of course there's good and evil, the Bible refers to many things as being sinful.... Nobody as Jesus clearly stated is without sin.
Of course all of this depends upon your definition of sin. If marking your body with tattoos is sinful then I'm guilty. If sex before marriage is sinful then yeah, guilty. If drinking alcohol is sinful then I'm guilty.

I wouldn't equate any of those things to being evil though.
Can I ask you if you think that thought can be sinful, if so I'm guilty of that too.

I don't believe in the concept of sin.

This shocks me. Normally, Atheists think a lot about morality. You deny people do immoral things?

I hope you’re not retreating to semantics.

I don't like putting myself in a category.

Just because we don’t like reality, doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. We can all legitimately be put in all kinds of categories.

I'm not here to troll anyone.
In fact I'm interested in what makes Christians so sure of their positions, how many atheist trolls admit that the universe may well have been created?
How many are skeptical about the big bang theory?

Yeah, that's fine.
But the thought category is missing.

I'm not here to troll anyone.
In fact I'm interested in what makes Christians so sure of their positions,

I understand that there is a lot of Theology "out there" and it can be quite a chore and a challenge to get past all the junk.
Its no different on this forum, or on any forum..
So, WE can certainly agree on that @Mancunian .

And the answer to why a Christian is so certain about God and Christ, is very simple.
Its 2 reasons.

1.) , Jesus rose from the Dead. Jesus is ALIVE.

2.) A real Christian........not a religious water baptized fakir, but a real born again Christian, has encountered something wonderful.. They have a unique personal experience, that they could not invent or create of themselves.
See, to become a Christian, is to become ONE (Spiritually) (Born again) in Christ and God., and that is something that can be written about, and explained till the end of time........but unless you have experienced this personally for yourself.....then its like looking at a photo, vs the reality.

See what i mean?

So, thank you for your conersation.
Im not here to try to make you believe........but i hope that one day........soon, you will read Hebrews 9:27., and believe it.
This verse says that everyone has a day appointed when death is coming to take you from this place.
And the choice you make regarding God and His Son before you died.........is the one that God is going to Honor after you die, for all eternity.
Thats a fact.

So, When will you die @Mancunian ?
Do you know?
Is it going to be when you are 89 in your sleep, or is it going to be the day after tomorrow in a car wreck?
See, that is the issue with ....>>"well, i just dont have time for this Jesus stuff"........."but later, maybe i'll think about it more".

See, none of us believe that we are going to be in the Obituary section of the Newspaper tomorrow..........we always think we have "more time".
So, I pray that God will help you to SEE His Amazoing Love for YOU in The Cross of Christ.........very soon., while you still have time.

Have any of you had a faith wobble and thought to yourselves what if I'm wrong?
It seems to me that you're all very certain about who God is, what God wants and how God will treat you in your eternal lives.

Do any of you question What you're signed up to?
I know that I've asked this before, the lack of response to that question is telling.

I have many questions and sometimes doubt about things in the Bible but I have no doubt that Jesus is the Son of God and that he died for me and rose from the dead

My thoughts on this are mixed.
I would love to see my sister again and tell her how much I love/loved her. I would love to spend more time with my dad and give him a huge hug. I would love to feel something more than this mortal life has given me but of course there is a big but.
If I'm in an eternal life with people that I know have committed evil acts in their earthly life then I know that the cons greatly outweigh the pros.
I couldn't settle knowing that good people are somewhere else and not enjoying the eternal life that I am... I couldn't settle knowing that evil people are enjoying an eternal life based on faith and not works.

I know that an eternal life sounds like bliss on paper, no death, no disease and only Euphoria, but how could it possibly be like that unless you end up as an empty shell with no recollection of good and evil?
