NOTHING in scripture tells me anything about your personal expectations.

Scripture answers your question about what the followers of Jesus will do in the age to come. You know that. (And you, you’ve said, you aren’t interested in it.) The expectation of the followers of Jesus is that we will do what scripture says we will do. That answers your question. Now you can play dumb and hope some poor soul tosses you the pearls you long to trample on.

I would like to have a conversation with @Armour of God
He or she seems to be the go to poster.

I'm wondering if Armour of God thinks that he or she is somehow special and doesn't belong in any category assigned to us by scientific research?

I'm wondering if this person has anything interesting to say.

I've seen a few posts, but they haven't been directed to me.

Looking forward to his or her take on what a life of eternal bliss would look like in his or her opinion.

How are you? I hope your doing well.

Just a bit about my journey.
Like you, i was raised by Christians and became an atheist in my teens and 20s.
But then I became agnostic for several years before coming to believe in intelligent design.

In regards to your question I don't think I'm special at all. Sure I fall into some categories assigned to me by science. I'm a mammal, im human.

But just before I go to bed... I've realised that Armour of God is definitely a man. I've come to this conclusion based on his misogynistic posts about women drivers.

Your saying that I hate women because I think men are better drivers. Really.
So using that same reasoning people who think women are better drivers are misandrists? They hate men?
Off course not, that's ridiculous.

Everyone on that thread understood that we were discussing which gender is generally better at driving. No one was linking that to the hatred of any gender. No one was making such accusations on that thread.

He ignores the actual evidence that women are better drivers.
He thinks that because men are good at Motorsports (a male dominated sport) that men are better drivers.

Depends on your definition of "better".

For me "better" is who is most skilled.
And what better way to measure a drivers skill than by looking at motor sport. It's male dominated because men are more skilled at driving. It doesn't discriminate. Women are more than welcome to participate and have been involved in various motorsports categories.

He doesn't take into account that most accidents are caused by young testosterone filled men, or the verifiable evidence that insurance policies are cheaper for women.
He doesn't follow evidence. I can't wait to hear from him.

Actually your not following the evidence of motorsports. Men are generally more skilled at driving.

Your definition of "better" doesn't seem to include skill at all. Your basing it on which gender is safest.

You can make a case for women being safer drivers but regarding skill there is no measure that says women are more skilled than men

Your argument is based on the fact that Motorsports are male dominated.
It's like me saying that women make better or more skiied parents because most homemakers are women.

The same "skills"that you quote from Motorsports are the same testosterone driven skills that causes the majority of accidents generally.
Avoiding accidents is a skill, causing them definitely isn't.

As men age and their testosterone levels drop, this in turn makes them more cautious and more skilled drivers. They are involved in less accidents than younger men.

Women drivers spend less time in courts of law defending their driving....
Men speed more than women. Men drink and drug drive more than women. Men cause more deaths than women.

Statistics show that women are more skilled safer drivers than men, which is backed up by facts. Insurers happen to agree.

Women might be safer but men are definitely more skilled.

Why can't you answer the question?
When looking for permanent employment, I always find it useful to read the job description....
What is the job description?
The Bible is very vague about this as you well know, so I'm asking you and everyone else directly.
I've read the verse that says what you're referring to.

When you read the scriptures you read the job description. You‘ve declined the job offer that was / is extended to you.

Have you read about the job in other Christian writings?

On the recommendation of one of my old college professors, I just obtained a copy of He Will Reign Forever: A Biblical Theology of the Kingdom of God, written by Michael J. Vlach.

No I haven't read that, I've read the Bible AKA the word of God...
The Bible that Christians quote for everything else but the question I'm asking.
Show me the verses that clarify what the saved will be doing in their eternal lives, show me a verse that goes further to explain.

I'll save you the time. There isn't one as you well know.
That just leaves you with hopes and dreams. The vague promise that you'll somehow be involved in government doesn't cut the mustard.
I'm as I've consistently said am interested in what Christians believe that their eternal lives will look like, their day to day, will it be bliss?
I've asked about Christians opinions on memories of this life and whether they'd be able to accept the fate of good people.

Up until now, I've not heard from anyone who wants to answer the question honestly, which I find amazing since the promise of eternal life is the whole point of Christianity.

You’re wasting your time. I gave you what you need, not what you want.

“Sixth, and last, there is a category in scripture for unbelievers who reject the gospel and are therefore to be cut off by us, though still in hopes that they might be open at some point in the future. Jesus called them ‘pigs’ and ‘dogs’ and in other places commands the disciples to wipe the dust off their feet in protest against their rejection (Matt. 7:6; 10:14). It seems that there is a kind of evil and violent rejection of the gospel message that can occur, one that responds to pearls of glory with fangs and violence or scandalously shameful rejection. The points I’ve made above are not for that kind of person, perhaps with the exception of persevering prayer. …”

You haven't answered the question. It's an easy question.
I've told you and been honest about what I expect after my death.
Why can't you be honest?

I'll tell you what I think about why you're being dishonest. You don't really know... Your Bible doesn't tell you what to expect. All you have is hopes and dreams that you're obviously not going to put into words.
You don't want to liken your earthly life to the afterlife. I can understand why you don't want to do that.... After all is said and done you want to live forever.... You are scared of death and nonexistence, that's totally natural, that's why there's nothing special about us.

Millions of people have lived and died... We are no different.

You're a Pastor, or retired pastor.
You should be able to explain to 'your readers' what the afterlife entails, you should be able to go into detail. You should be making it clear to them... You are after all an authority on what the Bible says.

My advice: Spend the life you are wasting here with your family.

Of course I'm suggesting that even the men of God don't really know what exactly they are preaching.
If there was no deflecting and a certain path I would maybe have to get onboard.
I've seen nothing here to suggest that an external life would be any better than an everlasting death.
None of you have come up with anything that slightly interests me.

I'm asking again....
What, in your opinion does an eternal life look like?
Take me on the journey.... What are you all expecting?
Is it really going to be bliss? Do we have memories? Are we destined to have something different or is it more of the same?
